“Not pleased”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

Went there for lunch with my partner. We were showed the special board, but the waiter didnt even know the price. Anyway when he asked if we were ready to order we said yes and then he left us to go and take water to another table. I had seafood chowder and my partner had creamy mushroom soup.... Seafood chowder was nothing more that thin soup with some seafood in it. Same with mushroom soup, mushrooms dumped in a paddle of water. I wouldve said something to the staff, but we were never checked back on.We also werent asked how was the food at the time of paying. Very poor.

“A soothing food oasis”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

A soothing food oasis located in a wonderful veranda-encircled colonial style building smack on the waterfront. I was initially lured in by the lunch-time specials, of which Reva’s super authentic beef burrito with salad remains a favorite. Since finding myself coming back on numerous occasions to chill-out in this lovely setting, I have graduated to a fondness for Reva’s perfect chargrilled venison on a simple potato mash, with those lovely zingy bits of blue-cheese she places in the reduction sauce. All in all, fresh local ingredients, served with lots of imagination and little pretense. Going by the interesting collection of local art-work on the walls and the weekend jazz-oriented live-music sessions, there seems to be an active community heart in play here as well. Highly recommended.

“disappointed!”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

Ordered the steak and jacket potato with sour cream and chives. When it came it looked fantastic. Sadly the potato was hard in the centre. Took it back to the bar, they apologised. It returned obviously having been microwaved, the original sour cream was now dried lumps!! When asked how the meal was we explained, they didn't seem bothered.
A spoon of fresh sour cream and some chives to garnish could have made it look great. Instead it looked sad and dry!
A little pride in the foods appearance and care for the customer would have helped!
$35 for a steak and microwaved potato?! We won't be visiting again or recommending it to friends!

“Lovely location on the water, but they can smoke on the deck!”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Had a delicious $15 seafood chowder with french stick and a glass of wine; lovely spot by the water. Unfortunately they allow people in NZ to smoke "outside" at a restaurant, which spoilt it a bit.
