“Good food and staff - don't take a good car!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

On our two visits over the past year, we enjoyed the food, and found the staff friendly and considerate.
However, the fact that our old dog was in the vehicle each of our last two visits caused the untrained dogs on the site to repeatedly stand up against our vehicle, permanently scratching 3 of the 4 doors. The owner had been outside with his dogs during the time this was happening.
His reaction to the damage caused was aggression and foul language aimed at his customers.
Having never seen the owner involved in either the cafe or the gallery during any of our previous visits is now quite understandable. The operators are well advised to keep him clear of the customers!

There are many other options in the Whangarei area - we will not return nor will our associates.

“Great spot for a stop!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

We spent a few days in the area, and came back to this cozy, little spot a few times. The coffee and tea is great, homemade cakes & delicious food! Staff is nice and there are even some toys available to play with for the little ones! The view from the back terrace is stunning! If you are in the area, this is definately a must!

“Nice place for families”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

I like to take my Mum for lunch here. Food choice is family friendly. Great views and fabulous art. Inside dining has heating in winter. A little piece of paradise.

“Lovely way to waste the time away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

Out of the way and totally serene, sit on the deck outside and catch the view or inside in the warm. Menu offers a good variety as does the drink selection, alcohol or not. The gallery and gardens are a must so be prepared to spend some time here. The prices are rather high in the gallery but this is unique so I guess you can expect that. This is a must even if it is a trifle off the beaten track.

“Our local”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

Busy little place that always delivers tasty food and great coffee. Limited wine list. German beers a hit with our visitors. Amazing views from the outdoor seating area. Not great on a wet day.
