Im used to diving in Egypt or Mexico etc, so the diving was different to waht i was used to, but in a good way.

Loads of kelp, but once you get through that, there are some real gems to be found. We spotted a huge scorpion fish, a grey moral and a yellow moray and some cool nudibranches. Plus went into the largest sea cave in the world.

I have heard that at certain times of year, manta rays have been seen also.

We went with Dive Tutukaka, by far the most professional dive organisation i have ever been with.

Brilliant

We took the advice of Jacques Cousteau (from his top 10 list) and took the trip to the Poor Knights Islands to dive the Blue Maomao Arch. We chartered through Dive Poor Knights in Tutukaka marina and captain Bruce shuttled us off to the islands for two great days of diving. We managed to get into The Landing Bay Pinnacle, Northern Arch, Middle Arch, and Blue Maomao Arch over the 4 dives. Beautiful seawalls were filled with colorful plant life and hidden creatures. Huge stingrays meandered in and out of our arches. Schools of blue maomao and snapper above and below your head were absolutely stunning. If you dive you must go here. Must!
