“Excellent lunch, excellent value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

We had lunch here today, lamb salad....
Just lovely, not too much seasoning hiding other flavours, and the service was excellent.
Nice ambiance, and very courteous staff, will go there again....

Great to hear you had a good time and enjoyed the food and service, but especially so as Anna and I were on annual leave at the time. Nice to know the place runs well without us - probably better!

“Good service, good coffee!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

We only went for coffee but the service was very good and coffee arrived within minutes. Great location. It was a bit pricey but thats probably what you get with a tourist destination like whangarei heads. Recommend to all for coffee.

“Great Muffins and Coffee”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

This is a great place to visit in Whangarei. The location at the town basin, ease of parking and outdoor seating area make it a very pleasant experience. The coffee is always good and muffins full of flavour

“Great lunch in picturesque spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2013 via mobile

Whangarei basin is a regular destination when we are up this way, and we were delighted to find such a hospitable cafe with such great food and wine at such a reasonable cost.
Of note was the seafood chowder and the pistachio and ginger slice (which we had to get a second helping of)

“Fantastic..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

I have been living in Whangarei for the last 5 weeks, and have to admit being from Melbourne have been spoilt for choice when it comes to food, especially being vegetarian..I find it really hard finding interesting vegetarian food that is not fried and unhealthy or just boring. So a couple of fridays ago, I went out for dinner to Mokaba, I ordered a anti pasto platter, not only did it arrive within 5 min of ordering, but I could not believe the size of it and it was so fresh...The lady working was so lovely, I mentioned it was my birthday and she even brought me out a gorgeous plum cake, it was so good. I will definately be heading back soon..

Hi Nik P - thank you for your kind words, feedback like this always apperciated. The vegetarian and gluten free options we try to offer have received excellent feedback and if our offer does not accommodate a diet we endeavour to find a solution that does, even if not on the menu.
