stopped to have lunch at wanganui on the way from wellington to new plymouth and on a sunny day couldn't resist these tables on the footpath shaded by umbrellers.
We were only after lunch - but ended up with one of the tastiest meals I have had anywhere, anytime. The coffee & service was pretty good also.
I ordered a jamaican jerk chicken & shared a cone of shoestring fries.
The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, & full of flavour. It was served with a tasty salsa & on a bed of diced kumara.
The shoestring fried were served with a herb sprinkle & a very nice aioli & the whole lot was around $20
I am so glad we took the detour into wanganui (which was also a pleasant town)
