Loved riding this country road which follows the Whanganui River as it winds it's way to Upokongaro before joining the highway section through to Whanganui.
Lots of stunning scenery, the sounds of the birds and some friendly locals happy to share their time and stories.

Loved this national park, really wild and rugged and yet other areas really pretty like English style gardens. There are sheep and heaps of them in every hill, very peaceful walking and driving thru it. Lots of places to stop and admire the views. Really enjoyed it! Take some good walking shoes, warm socks and a light parka it gets cold!!

The miniature railway will keep the kids amused and most of the park can be seen without effort. We walked round in about an hour and the rose gardens were well worth viewing.
