Saturday night in Thames and not a lot of choice, so picked this place on a whim. An inspired choice! A late 19th century pub, converted to a cafe. Decor is fine, service friendly and helpful. Now, bangers and mash is the same everywhere you get it - right? Well not if you get it here. Bangers beautifully cooked, moist and tasty. Great creamy mash and a magnificent gravy. The best ever. You have to have some. The menu was great - typical pub style food, but my meal, and that of my partner who had the pork belly, was so good. One thing - and Thames is not so good at this - this is an old pub that was built during the boon days of the town, and it was named after someone called Brian Boru. So what is the history of the pub, and who is Brian Boru? Perhaps a bit of a history lesson on the menu would be helpful. However, a great job - well done

Visited Brew again during last trip back to NZ in January this year and enjoyed our dinner so much we went back the next day for breakfast. Friendly and welcoming staff, delicious food, good wine, beer and cider selection and the revamped decore is looking great. Keep doing what you do Brew crew.

The old Brian Boru no longer operates as a hotel - but it is home to Brew, a fantastic cafe/wine bar. We had an amazing meal there, fantastic value for money, and the place is full of character. Thoroughly recommended.
