“Used by my family many times”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

If we are in New Zealand and have the grand children with us, this is where they want to stop if they are on Highway 2. Friendly and with good food, the added bonus is that there are animals outside at the back of the cafe. Keeps children occupied while waiting for food. Ideal stop between Auckland and Tauranga

“Now THIS is what I call a 'Welcome Break' !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013

The best fresh-from-the-oven blueberry muffin I have ever tasted and a proper barista cappucino. And all served in a charming outdoor garden setting. Would the UK motorway service stations please send their staff on a training course at the Woodturners Cafe?

“REAL COFFEE – Fabulous Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2012

Well that’s what the road sign said and it certainly lived up to the claim.

The cafe is a well-recommended stopping place for travellers heading in and out of Auckland on SH2. Newly renovated with delightful indoor rooms and outdoor-eating areas at both the front and the back the Wood turners Cafe offers privacy and comfort in what was an old cottage.

On offer is a good range of Kiwi pies and other popular lunch fare by way of quiches, filled rolls, wraps and other cabinet food. A blackboard menu features a wide selection of hot and cold dishes.

AND don’t forget the great REAL COFFEE!
