Amazing exhibits. So much hands-on too. Great video and you must watch all of it or buy the DVD. The entrance fee was all worth it.

“Te Manawa”

Te Manawa may not be a large national museum, but I would rate it amongst the best in the country. The main purpose of the collection is to tell the story of Palmerston from its beginning in Maori experience and legend until today.
There is a really good collection of art, which recognizes Palmy's strong support for art and culture.I believe that currently there is a paid display of Roman weapons of war. Therefore I would recommend this place having something for which anybody can relate especially children.

“Great free activity for the kids, interesting for adults.”
Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

My kids aged 5 and 7 never tire of visiting the kids section of Te Manawa, there is lots of interactive play, and always plenty of other kids around. The main exhibitions are very enjoyable too. You certainly can't complain about the price!
