My partner booked a surprise getaway for us the weekend of the 13-16th of May...What a beautiful place this was..On arrival we were met by a friendly Joy who made me feel at ease right away. Got to the chalet and I must say it was beautiful,I felt like I had walked into my own home. The chalets were clean, neat, well decorated with many personal touches. The highlights...The great spa which was beautiful at night time sitting under the stars...very romantic...The wildlife that came to visit us was spectacular, the kangaroos, the woylies, the possums which we were able to hand feed.
All in all I had a wonderful weekend in beautiful surroundings.

Hi thanks for the review, we are glad you enjoyed your surprise & enjoyed meeting the gang of kangaroos on your doorstep. Most of the older females have new joeys which should start to emerging over springtime, very cute!
We hope you got some great pics to remember your time here.
Look forward to meeting you again in the future.

Mixed feelings after our long weekend in Yelverton Eco Spa...
First of all, disappointment since we felt definitely misled by the webpage which indicated it was a luxury spa. Nothing furthest from reality. These are pretty rustic and basic chalets. The entrance hall to the chalets is in fact the bathroom!. The equipment would be equivalent to a 2* hotel, no more.
The price (we paid above $300/night) was well above much superior accommodation available in locations much closer to Margaret River.
True, the experience of having the kangoroos and other local species coming to your patio is great, specially if you have children. And you can not help sympathise with the Project and the couple running it.
However, it comes as a very expensive eco experience.
In summary, nothing wrong with these chalets if you paid 200-225 $/night. For the current rates, you can find plenty of luxury accommodation much closes to MR.

Thankyou for your review, we are sorry you felt mislead about us.
We actually removed the word "Luxury" from as much advertising as possible as we felt we were to focus more on our eco tourism & wildllife focus. The only place the "Luxury" word I think left, is in the banner on our website which is soon to be replaced with a new website.
We are updating our bathrooms soon and realise they need attention, we have purchased new vanities already.
The chalets have been built over the last 18-10yrs by a craftsman, we aim to keep them in a good condition.
We are in a rural area but only a short drive to Margaret River, Busselton & Dunsborough & centrally located in the wine region.
We are glad your family enjoyed the friendly wildlife on your doorstep plus the provided fauna feed & readiing the Wildlife Journals by other guests.
The couple onsite are actually the orginal owners whom have handbuilt everything from scratch.
The back porch next to the carpark when you arrive was designed so after a trip to the beach you could slip easily into the shower to wash off the beach sand etc:
If we were to build the chalets now we would have made onsuite bathrooms for both rooms but when they were built a shared bathroom was the norm, but yes a larger one would have been better in hindsight.
There is a pathway around to the front glass door you can use over looking the bushand and patio area.
We hope you made use of the private "spas under the stars" while watching the wildlife.

We have not increased our prices for several years to help make it more affordable and often offer discounts or add-on specials. We add in extras like our complimentary freshly baked bread, free range eggs, milk etc;

We do thankyou for your review.

This is probably the first review I actually don't know where to begin because this is one of the best places I have ever stayed in. If you are looking for a place to stay that will help you unwind, remind you what it is like being a kid, and create the space that will give you some quiet time with loved ones, this is the place to be.

I won't spoil your experience by telling too much. The reviews written by others for this place says it all. I for one am planning to return this year when I visit Margaret River. What makes this place so different from the other lodgings in Margaret River is the experience with Nature. You have got to visit this place at least once.

I chose Yelverton Brook Eco Spa Retreat after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. The retreat was even better than I imagined, we were greeted by Joy who gave us a freshly baked loaf of bread and as we opened the patio doors to our chalet within minutes we had 4 furry visitors, what an experience for my grand-daughter on her first visit to us in Australia, she hand fed them and in the evenings the Woylies and Possumstoo. My son and his partner came along too and on our second night we hired the private in house chef, it was a very informal night spent under the stars ( milky way) and the food was excellent and as expected we had many uninvited guests too!! it was wonderful. It is in a perfect location for access to Margaret River, Dunsborough, and of course the stunning beach at Bunker Bay, we also visited Hamlin Bay to see the Stingrays and Augusta to see the Dolphins.

I have nothing but praise for Joy and her husband for the hard work they put into making our stay very pleasant and also her obvious love of nature and her care about the enviroment.

Thank you to you both and Greg the chef, we will be back probably in autumn or winter.

We stayed at Yelverton Brook Eco Spa Retreat a week before Christmas and our kids just loved the place. Upon arrival at our chalet, we were greeted by kangaroos and woylies, and the animals just kept on coming. Yeleverton Brook Eco Spa retreat was easy to find, very clean, had a well equipped kitchen, location was convenient - close enough to all the attractions and beached. Joy was very helpful, giving us pointers and helping us with everything we needed. Overall, a great place to stay with kids!

This was a most relaxing break for us! Meeting the 'locals' at night, and having a Roo pop inside the (charming!) cottage for a visit is apparently an everyday (or evening!) occurrence. We were thrilled to see Bandicoots and Possums as well as Woylies and Roos - great work, Joy and Simon. So lovely being surrounded by the bush - with the spa! - and then there were the massages ......! Great food provided - everything one could possibly wish for was in our cottage! Highly recommended, and we will be back again with family and/or friends soon, we hope!

The kids fell in love with the place at first sight.

The chalet was big, clean, well-stocked, cosy and well decorated with all the personal touches. Nothing was lacking from the place. Information with regards to the places of interests were also nicely compiled for our references. I must applaud Simon and Joy for their thoughfulness of making the stay a comfortable and relaxing one. A box of toys was also prepared which thrilled my children. They also enjoyed watching the DVDs which were available.

Of course the highlights of the stays were the 'visitors' we had (i.e. the animals) and the outdoor spa which we thoroughly enjoyed.

This place is definitely a gem and we are so glad that we found it.
