Judging by other reviews we must have caught this place on a bad day. Indifferent food, service and staff in all departments. We may have to go back to find out if the 'could not care less' attitude still prevails!

We were on holiday in the south west and had decided upon this venue for lunch with our teenage children.
We were there mid week, before the state school holidays and arrived spot on at midday. There were hardly many others so had the opportunity to take in all the surrounds. This venue is swank. It's modern, refreshing and all our party thought "wow". They (our teenagers) have been dragged around the south west for many years now and are starting to appreciate the finer qualities.

Onto the menu and drinks, I went for the tasting tray of drinks (beer) - some good, some average - there was one I didn't like - but that's a personal taste. My partner enjoyed a cider with no complaints. The kids enjoyed the cool drinks and ample suppy of chilled water.

Meals: We were hungry so ordered as entree the potato and chorizo bombs (they are a failure and not worth the money), crispy squid (a delight) and a tasting plate of chorizo, olives, feta & freshly baked cheeky monkey beer bread, with local olive oil and balsamic (which was average).

The mains consisted of pizza's and steak. The first pizza "The Howler" was with a satay base and marinated chicken breast, chilli, peanuts, red capsicum, spanish onion and coriander - topped with a sour cream, the second "The Cheeky Monkey" slow roasted moroccan spiced lamb with olives, rosemary, sea salt, feta, spanish onion, air dried tomatoes and served with tzatziki, the third
"The Gorilla" with a tomato base with bacon, chorizo, roast capsicum, swiss brown mushrooms, spanish onion, sun dried tomatoes, olives, oregano and parmesan. One of our party had the grilled chicken club sandwich which consisted of marinated char grilled chicken breast and bacon layered
between sour dough bread with cheddar, tomato, lettuce and aioli, served with fries and aioli. Me, I had the sirloin steak which was a 21 day air dried (300g) piece chargrilled medium rare (perfect), served with chips, garden salad, killerby red wine jus & garlic herb butter.

My only complaint was the salad - you need to check and prepare your salad better than what they did. Don't serve salad with browning edges - it detracts from the experience.

The venue filled quickly and meals of all types were being ordered and consumed - it's a pleasnt venue.

If reading this review, give the Cheeky Monkey a try - we did!! It's a bit pricey $$$ though....

Popped in for a pizza late in the afternoon , lunch menu not on offer but we were happy to order pizza, thinking 2 pizzas would do 5 of us for a light snack at $25 each, not even close ! 2 slithers of pizza each and poor to no service. Great venue to pop in for a beer but don't expect value for money - or even a smile :-). With so much great competition in the region , Cheeky MOnkeys had better get their act together !

Don't eat here when they are busy. We waited over an hour and a half. Everyone's orders were mixed up and some of us weren't served at all and had to ask several times for our meals. No apology or updates. Kitchen seemed to be flustered and just can't cope in busy periods. Lovely setting and hopefully they can sort out the kitchen problems.
