I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment for 3 nights on my last vacation with friends to Margaret River. The apartment is spacious and is nicely kept. The apartment is well equipped with cleaning detergents in the kitchen as well as washing liquids for the washing machine.

The weather was really cold for spring and we were pleasantly surprised that electric blankets were provided in both the bedrooms.

Up until this accomodation our experience of reasonably-priced Australian Hotel accommodation had been mediocre at best. As our expectations were not high when we saw our two-bedroom apartment we were so pleased. A very spacious open-plan lounge-kitchen area with comfortable and modern furnishings. A small balcony but big enough for the 4 of us sit out and have breakfast looking over the resort and more distant views. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedrooms also spacious and comfortable. We had a drink in the bar and meal in the restaurant on our first evening and we thoroughly enjoyed both. Excellent location for beach, local attractions and wineries.

We booked & paid for 2 nights for 2 bedroom apartment. When we checked in on the day, the receptionist told us they couldn't find our booking. We showed them the confirmation letter & they blamed the booking agent.

All they said is either we take the refund or they booked us into another hotel which is 7 min away from the beach instead of walking distance. The hotel manager said this hotel that he arrange for us is more expensive and has the same facilities. But, the reality is that this alternative hotel does not provide the same facilities. We have no choice but to accept it as the sky already dark & we are not familiar with the surrounding. We were so disappointed & forced to change plan for the second day and go back to Busselton because all hotels in Margaret River are fully booked.

The compensation the manager offered us is pack of chocolate each and promised to contact the booking agent to find out why the booking was not transmitted to their system. When we call and follow up with the manager, he said he did received the email in regards to our booking but he does not know why it was not in their system. Even though he offered to give us one night free stay if we do book his hotel again, but I will never want to stay there anymore because of this BAD experience.

Now we have to contact the booking agent directly to sort out the refund!!!

We stayed for 3 nights over the last weekend. Room was a bit rundown, and had some damage, but nothing major. Kids loved the playground which was right outside our lower floor room which was fantastic. Rooms are nice and big, and plenty of room in the two bedders for a family of 4. BBQ facilities were old and really poor, and at the level I would expect from a caravan park, not a 4 star resort.

Pool area was again a little rundown, and there was not enough sunbeds, as the Germans had taken all 5 of them each time we went to the pool. Still, the pool area is nice, and the pool, whilst cold, is great.

Our major complaint, and it's not really the MBRs fault, was the outside noise and language during the Friday and especially the Saturday night. On the Saturday night we had screaming and offensive language all night until 4am, most of which was coming from the gazebo area. Coupled with the fact the fan in the main room didn't really work, we had the window open to let fresh air in, which made it worse.

Still, we'd go again, it's good value, the staff are nice, the White elephant does a great breakie, and it's close to the beach. And they give you a drink at the bar on arrival.

Room Tip: if you have kids, ask for a downstairs room.

We stayed for 4 nights, in room 206. We had a distant view of the beach, very nice. It was More economical than others we'd looked at, which didn't really have any views. You need a car to get around, but the wineries are close by. The restaurant is fabulous, some of the nicest food we had the whole trip! And set within the resort so very convenient! We ate there twice. See separate review for Gnarabar restaurant.

We stayed here only for two nights in a 2 bed townhouse, the accommodation was immaculate and very big. The staff were so helpful and even had a selection of adapters and chargers that you could use free of charge. The onsite restaurant served fantastic food and the Elephant café at the beach did a great breakfast.. will definitely go back and stay longer....

Margarets Beach Resort was a relaxing and comfortable place to stay after a long drive from Perth. There is not much in the way of food options though, with only one over-priced restaurant on site and a beach cafe a 10 min walk away that is only open during the day. The area is quite a long way from any shops. We found it a bit remote and not as picturesque as the main part of Margaret River. However the staff at the resort are very helpful and friendly and if you have brought your own supplies then you have a well-equipped kitchen to cook in at your apartment. We were disappointed that we could not use the pool, as the water is freezing and there is no heating at all. There is no spa and the sauna is kept padlocked so it was all a bit too much bother to get wet. If you get nice weather, the beach is a winner. Unfortunately, it was a bit too chilly when we were there. Overall, a comfortable and modern resort.

Room Tip: Choose a north-facing balcony for more sun.

Thank you for taking time to review our resort. Unfortunately the sauna was padlocked due to work being done on it at the time of your stay with us. Yes it was a bit chilly to use the pool during your stay, but perhaps next time when the weather is on our side. We look forward to seeing you again.
