“Excellent Location”
Reviewed November 3, 2011

While the unit was very clean and well equipped, it just lacks any kind of WOW factor. Decor is slightly dated & the whole resort shows signs of being "well used". This is ok, IF you are not paying $230 per night. As with most Margaret River accommodation (and Australian for that matter), it is over-priced, but the biggest positive from this resort is the location. Particularly if you are lucky enough to get a unit with a good view over the water. We watched as a group of whales frolicked in the bay which was amazing. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. Wifi is available but a charge applies.

Room Tip: Units with water views.

Resturant excellent, service and food quality first rate. Accommodation let down by disgusting mess left by bird droppings.

We were really pleased with the facilities and the staff made our stay really enjoyable. We stayed when it was too cold to swim in the pool, but it was lovely being able to walk to the beach. The atmosphere and standard of service at the nearby Gnarabar restaurant was great and so conveniently located to The Resort. We would definitely stay again and have already recommended The Margaret’s Beach Resort to our friends.

We got a good deal on a voucher site for this resort which we were glad of as we wouldn't have been happy if we'd paid full price.

The staff were friendly which is always a good start but our accomodation didn't meet the same standards. It's difficult to put my finger on the exact problem but the room just didn't feel right. There were a number of small issues that didn't effect our stay as such but bring the resort down:

There was a breeze through the windows in the kitchen/ lounge room
Cracked floor tiles
Dirty windows
Bird poo in communal corridors
Dirty glasses in cupboard
Sticky kitchen worktops

Like I say these were very small things and as we got a good deal ($219 for 2 nights) we weren't overly bothered.

On the plus side we did have a nice view of the ocean (although it would have been nice to have a balcony like the room next door). The spa was a welcome addition, the resort is in a very beautiful area and the food in Gnarabar was delicious (happy hour is very good value.)

Would we stay here again - probably not........

We got a good deal from Cudo, $222 for 2 night apartment with 2 bedrooms. The photos on their website look prettier than the apartment itself.

The interior was clean! No bedbugs! Noisy fridge, got to shake the fridge several times. We wish they clean the window/ door frames, the exterior glass windows and floor.

We got a good ocean view, for $222, we're happy. Without cudo, we have to pay $444, We think, it's a bit to pricey. Overall, it's a good place for family with kids (not sure recommended for honeymooners, kids a bit loud early morning), you can walk 10 mins to beautiful beach.

We enjoyed our two night stay here from start to finish. We arrived around 9.20pm and were met by Lee who was very welcoming and offered to ask the restaurant to stay open due to our late arrival. Reception staff were equally charming. The room was a good size, clean and well-equipped. Can heartily recommend taking the walk from the resort to the little cafe on the beach for a fab breakfast overlooking the sea. This is a lovely place to stay. Thanks.
