Admiral Stirling Inn
Ranked #13 of 20 Margaret River B&B and Inns

This inn consists of two or three separate, older, buildings that share a common BBQ area and lounge. The ground floor, two bedroom suite we had was very large but lacked privacy as there were large windows on all sides (with heavy curtains). The quality of your sleep will depend on your neighbours as there is little, if any, soundproofing (we could hear people walking around in the suite above us until they went to bed, and a group in the BBQ area was noisy during the early evening). It was quiet during the night, but noisy again in the morning was guests were loading their cars. The beds were comfortable, and we actually had a good sleep. Close to town.

My review to Cabin 1 and Cabin 2 as follow;
-Walking distance to the main street.
-Love the self-contained facility mean you can buy food from near by newly established Woolworths or Coles and prepare your own meal. Lovely decor and design in the Engine room
-TV in the bedroom is too small (Portable media player size)
-Excellent daily room service.
-No breakfast

There are three accommodation places in this complex - some with breakfast and some without. The complex sold itself as being in the centre of Margaret River - realistically, it was a good walk into town on unlit roads with no pavements or via even darker back alleys. When we stayed there, the lady at reception was lovely, very welcoming and helpful. The room was weird in that it was two rooms joined together. It was not that clean and our attempts at reducing the washing of towels went unheeded as our towels were replaced clean every day. The place was noisy with folks coming it late and making a huge amount of noise. There is a communal kitchen that backed onto our room but this again was noisy. Not the nicest of stays sadly.

Room Tip: Book into one of the sister accommodation places

We stayed in the Governors Quarters for two nights before a family wedding. The accommodation is an easy walk into the Main Street of Margaret River. The Governors Quarters sleeps 8, with 2 bathrooms so there was plenty of room for 5 of us.

We really enjoyed the relaxed feel of the accommodation, which is set amongst gum trees. The living area was roomy and I loved the old parliament sofa.

Car parking was a little problem when we were getting back late, but the people staying below us let us block them in.

There is wifi but it is a little sketchy and sometimes difficult to access.

Overall, great affordable accommodation for a family stay.

Margaret river is lovely and well worth a visit when in WA. This hotel was great value booked online in advance. The hotel itself is a little dis-jointed with the main reception located at a nearby hotel. There is a communal kitchen area which is lovely, full of nautical artifacts and an outside area to congregate in the evening. Unfortunately, the room booked (upstairs above the kitchen) had extremely thin walls and could easily hear noise from the room next door. The room itself had adequate, although a little dated, amenities. I suspect booking one of the larger rooms which aren't in the upstairs annex would have more solid walls and be less noisy. Location is very central and convenient. Next to a lovely Sicilian restaurant. Good base for renting a bike to explore the nearby vineyards. Free wi-fi (but unreliable).

Rooms are a decent size, good shower and bed was comfy enough. Access to communal kitchen facilities, with all crockery and cooking equipment. Free (albeit intermittent) WIFI is a plus. Biggest negative was the quantity of mosquito-like flies in the room (and judging by the stains on the walls, we weren't the first to experience this problem).
