The focus is all on the food serving luxury cuts of free range meat with local wines, fresh seafood and Italian pasta as well as that famous duck and venison and that sought after 700g prime ribeye steak. It seems like a decade since we dined at this unique little restaurant. We were glad we booked, particularly on a long weekend... as we'd definitely have missed out on an indoor table. Four of us enjoyed entres and mains, which included Spring Rolls, Dukkah Wood Fried Bread, Creamy Garlic Prawns, Seven Spice Squid, Venison Medallions and Beef. Service was friendly, competent and professional. Corkage wasn't excessive at $5.00 per bottle... and a McHenry Hohnen's Sav Blanc and a Madfish Shiraz complemented our tasty entres and mains.

For us locals this has been a stable casual restaurant that has evolved over changing hands only three times in 17 years. The winning formula of great food in a relaxed atmosphere has never changed. Try the signature dishes of duck or the best steak in town. You wont be disappointed.

This Restaurant was recommended by Pinda Lodge the B&B we stayed at whist in Margaret River. Trust the locals to know where to eat. We had a great night, excellent service and the food was fantastic. Highly recommended.

We dined for New Year’s Eve and enjoyed every dish on the table. The service was top notch.
We enjoyed it that much we booked to go back a couple of nights later and also thoroughly enjoyed that.

The only downside was that they had sittings either 6pm or 8.30pm and when you want to relax and enjoy the night with friends it all comes to an end when you are asked politely to leave so they can set up for the 8:30pm sitting. We were not informed that we would actually be asked to leave, we thought the sittings were more for the kitchen to cater for larger numbers over the festive season.

Anyhow that aside we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will come back each time we visit MR. It is also fab that you can take all the alcohol in the world with you as BYO, there seems to be no restrictions e.g. wine only, so makes it much more enjoyable for everyone to drink whatever brands, drinks etc they like

Fruit crumble with vanilla ice cream is a must..

I am so glad that you enjoyed your experience at The Arc so much. With regard to the two sittings, obviously we are a small restaurant and tables are in high demand so we need to run two sittings. However, we do have a strict policy of advising the first sitting, when they book, that the table will probably be rebooked for 8.30. I can only apologise if that was not mentioned to you at the time. The two sitting system only operates at peak times ( all year round on saturday nights) and both sittings do tend to be fully booked. weeknights, especially out of season are quieter and we have more flexibility regarding sitting times.

We ordered venison carpaccio, lamb rack, venison fillet and bread. We were very disappointed with the bread serving for $10 we 4 small, thin half slices, dukka and oil. The venison carpaccio was very nice, but was only sparingly placed around salad. We would have preferred to pay more and get more of the meat. The lamb rack was very nice. Finally the venison fillet was very tough and it appeared that the meat had not rested long enough as there was meat juices oozing from the meat. We were subsequently told that the duck and pork were the signature dishes however we didn't get a chance to try this.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am the new owner of Arc of Iris and all feedback is very important to me. I understand what you are saying about the bread entree, I will be making changes to the menu and I agree with you, this is one entree that I am not happy with, but inherited. I will be discussing with the staff immediate improvements to this entree. The venison, I do not really understand, I have spent a lot of time at the arc the last couple of weeks and have had nothing but praise for that meal. The carpaccio, again, this is usually a large entree with plenty of meat so I will look into what happened there. It is true that the Duck and the Pork are known as signature dishes but, so is the venison and the lamb. Every meal on there should be superb, otherwise, we should not be serving it.
