“The best in town”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

My wife and I dined there last week while holidaying at Margaret River, which we visit several times a year. We've dined at many restaurants in this town but this was our first venture into the Arc of Iris, inconspicuously tucked away on the high end of the main street almost at the corner of Wallcliffe Road.

It was recommended by several local friends, but being fussy about our food we noted another clue to a good restaurant: It's a BYO - and in case you're not familiar with the term it stands for 'bring your own' - wine, beer or whatever. It's significant because the restaurant can only survive if it produces good quality meals, and it's also great because we could enjoy a wine we'd purchased that day in one of the many local wineries.

Fortunately we booked ahead as the place was full when we arrived at 7.00pm .

The service was warm, friendly and efficient, wait staff knew the details of each item on the menu. My wife chose Oriental duck and I ordered steak, after being assured by the waitress that the local product really was very tender.

Both meals proved to be top-class and there was just enough room for us to share an equally delicious dessert.

We came away in full agreement that the Arc served food of a quality we had not previously discovered in this town and it got our tick for the best we had experienced in Margaret River. We are looking forward to dining there again on our next visit.

“Beyond amazing food and service”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

My partner josh and i (bec) are on our honeymoon and decided to check Arc of Iris. When we arrived we were already blown away by the atmoshphere and also the service. We were quickly seated with menus. I asked them even to take a picture if josh and I and had no worries to do it.
We had the amazing garlic prawns and we couldnt fault them one bit!! The taste, the presentation was fantastic.
Fir mains we had pork belly and far out the pork was like nothing we tried before. We didnt even need a knife!! The meat just slid right off and the crackle was very well done.
We then decided to go for some desert even though the other two meals where massive we didnt want to stop. We had appricot crumble... This left us speachless. Beyond amazing.

When you go there you will see all the awards they have on the walls and there is a strong reason as to why they have them. They are well deserved!!

As we were walking out there were a couple tossing up on to go or not. We said They MUST go in and they would be missing out if they didnt.

Arc of Iris is a fantastic place, great food, well price, amazing service. Josh and I could not be happier!!

We will be referring this company for sure! Thank so much for for ending our last night on our honeynoon on an incredible high.

“Wonderful meal”
Reviewed March 9, 2013

We are from Melbourne and have high standards. Arc of Iris is a wonderful restaurant. We enjoyed a great meal although food did come out a little too quick. The ingredients were fresh and the flavour combinations brilliant. Entrees of spicy squid with Asian salad and scallops with chorizo were great starters - light but so tasty; left us highly anticipating mains. Pork belly with red cabbage and spicy apple sauce, and roast duck with bok choy and rice was wonderfully cooked. Small nibbles for dessert - affogato and a couple of serves of nougat - mmmm! And we especially loved BYO. 32 different sittings in the night, but late sitting worked well for us. Would highly recommend for a quick but delicious meal.

“Excellent restaurant”
Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

Very nice quirky restaurant in Margaret river - expensive but worth it. Bring your own wine thankfully considering price of the food. I had steak and my wife had duck-both we're excellent. Service was good. Sweets were also excellent. Highly recommend.
