My husband and I ate here on the weekend whilst on holiday. The majority of the menu was gluten free, which made it difficult to order as I'm not used to so many options! We decided on the seafood platter for two and it was delicious! They made everything gluten free for me, including fried calamari using GF flour and seafood spring rolls using rice paper (I haven't eaten a spring roll for almost 20 years, so I was very excited!). Hubby and I were very glad we decided to skip having an entree as the amount of food on the platter was more than enough. However, we did have just enough room left for dessert. My husband (who is not coeliac) had his favourite sticky date pudding and they served me a gluten free chocolate and walnut cake with vanilla ice cream, berry coulis and chocolate sauce. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant to my fellow coeliacs.

Good location, had all the entrees as a main to share for 2 of us.Salad came the same with every entree, bit same same. Tasty but some entrees a little small and not so good.
Staff nice and moved us inside when we asked later on as it was getting cold.

We are locals to Margaret River and decided to try the Arc Of Iris with a travelling friend who found the restaurant after searching the web to look for a place to eat. After reading the reviews we were surprised as it had never been recommended to us from any of the local community yet the menu looked fantastic, we even debated what we were going to order prior to leaving our place to eat that evening.

We arrived and were greeted by a lovely young waitress, she sat us down and offered a wine cooler (which was forgotten but no biggy), we reminded her after the second glass of wine and she promptly got this for us along with ice to put in the drinks. We then ordered the entrees.

They came out very quickly (usually a plus) but after starting these we all concluded that the food was not what we had read about over the web, in fact for the price ($17-$19 entrees & $35-$40 mains) the food was definitely sub standard. It actually reminded us of a pub bistro meal.

The prawns and other shellfish ordered was an average size (4 pieces) with a salad arranged on
the plate, they were all OK (ie reasonably tasty) but nothing special at all.... the prawns with creamy garlic sauce being the low light with small prawns and stale bread that had been lightly charred on a skillet (or so it looked like)... we all commented that we would do a better job at home.

On to the mains... without going into specifics these again sadly followed the same path, meat over cooked (after requesting how we would like it to be done), average portions, over seasoned with pre prepared sides that tasted just that.... pre prepared dry and lacking oomph. Again the comments that we should have cooked at home circulated around the table. We were close to complaining but decided to leave the restaurant and head home for nibbles instead!

We would not recommend this restaurant as a "locals choice" as the food is not up to par. For a great experience we would recommend names like Winos (awesome) Must (great) and the Settlers Tavern... in fact the settlers do a better job with the same class of food.... a much better job.

To finish on a positive the young waitress was lovely, very pleasant and helpful, 5 stars for her!

We come down to Margaret River once or twice a year and always have dinner here and it's always a great night out. Love the decor and the quirkiness and of course the food in these unpretentious surroundings. Happy people working here, one can tell. Andrea well done!

Not much to say, BYO is always good especially in a great wine region. Food was delicious, perfectly cooked, great flavours and good portion sizes.
Staff are friendly and accomodating, the venue is cozy without being cramped and the prices are reasonable for the area. Early January meant booking was essential but fairly easy to get a good time (after sunset) on the morning of or evening prior.
Have a few sundowners at Prevelly (Must hit the White Elephant Cafe) and then a short drive to AOI for dinner.
Can't be beat.
