“Amazing views, soothing sounds... and loads of fresh air!”

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Redgate Beach Escape, staying in the Isaacs chalet for 4 nights. The sense of remoteness combined with spectacular scenery from every room and thoughtful amenities made it an entirely comfortable stay. We were travelling with our 8 month old son and it was a fantastic environment for him to enjoy as well. Providing a cot and high chair was no trouble for the owners, nor was their great advice on closest groceries and things to do in local surrounds. We'd highly recommend. Fabulous location, great value, lovely rooms and restful sleep to the sounds of fresh air and ocean. Cheers!

Our expectations of Redbeach Escape were high as we had been recommended them by friends of ours from Brisbane who visited them a year ago, and we were not disappointed.

I booked online and was emailed back promptly by Roger (Manager/Owner) confirming our dates. Upon arrival, Roger phoned me telling me where I would find the key to our chalet. And guess what...? It was there, exactly where he said it would be!

We stayed in chalet "Isaacs" and the panoramic views were just as described on the website. Sure, Bussell is the superior chalet out of all of them, with the uninterrupted views and the other chalet lurking behind, but all four chalets are well positioned and you couldn't hope for a better setting being right there in the Naturaliste-Leeuwin National Park. Brilliant with stunning flora and fauna.

We met Roger the day before we checked out and he was really charming and told us a bit about the area and how he had acquired the land. Our only 'little' grumble was that there were no reverse-air conditioners in the bedrooms and it was bitterly cold when going to bed, but that is it.

The living area was very comfortable, the verandah had an exceptional view of the ocean and across the top of the National Park, the bathroom was small but clean, the laundry all worked, the kitchen was very well equipped and the dining room table enormous! Real luxury!

Overall, we were slightly disappointed with the food offered in the restaurants and pubs around Margaret River. The food in the vineyards are nice (but pricey). We ate Sunday lunch at Voyager Estate, which we can highly recommend and a salad and quiche lunch at Olio Bello which was also yummy (if you are into Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars, then don't miss it!)

We discovered many vineyards around Margaret River and our favourites have to be Leeuwin Estate, Xanadu Estate and Voyager Estate, although we were very impressed with Cape Grace Estate too.

Another place we must mention for good food is the restaurant "Must of Margaret River". If you are looking for some wonderful locally grown, organic produce, then this restaurant litterally is a MUST!

We recently stayed for three nights at the Redgate Escape chalets and enjoyed it very much. I would agree with the previous reviewer's comments about the Redgate Escape web site which is misleading as to the proximity of the other chalets but as I had already read the reviews I was prepared for this. It is very quiet and overall very secluded. I found the owners to be quick to respond to enquiries and had no trouble at all making our booking. The decor in the chalets was very tasteful and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom unfortunately was far from luxurious and although quite large the sink was small and there was only a small shelf on which to place toiletries. I would have felt more secure if there had been a phone in the chalet and although we made the most of the quiet, television reception for the children would have been really nice. Overall though I would stay here again.

There are 4 chalets and we have always try to make this clear. Whilst chalets are close to each other, they all enjoy great ocean views and offer pivacy when in the chalets and on the verandas. Hopefully we'll get some more positive reviews written by other guests soon?!
We have now connected free to air satellite TV. The bathrooms are not 5* luxury and have never been advertised as such. The are very clean and functional. Bear in mind that we are not charging A$500 + per night, which often guests have experianced before staying at our place. ome and stay..you'll love it.!

My husband and I were reminiscing today about our honeymoon earlier this year. We spent 10 weeks in Australia, 3 or those in and around Perth. We sourced all our accommodation on-line as we went along and found the Redgate website. It looked exactly the type of accomm we wanted - but we were a little disappointed overall. The chalets are furnished and decorated well, and was spacious and clean. However, we had planned 5 nights at what we thought was a secluded and private beach bungalow.. in fact there are 5 chalets within feet of each other! Unless you're lucky enough to get the front chalet facing the sea (the one on the website), all the others have views with another chalet right next door or partially in front. Even the sea-facing chalet has the entry road across the front of it, so if you wanted to enjoy breakfast on the deck in your dressing gown (or less) be prepared to be viewed by all the other guests on the site as they come and go. Our chalet was at the back and we looked at the other 4 chalets not the bush or the sea! I don't mean to sound too fussy, but it was the one thing we sought on our honeymoon, private and quiet accommodation and Redgate very cleverly gives that impression but it's quite different in reality. Have a look on Google Earth to get an idea of the layout.

There are 4 chalets only on site, not 5. All chalets have ocean views and from all rooms. Whilst they are built close to one and other, they were built to take advantage of the views and offer seclusion. We have 4 visitor books (one from each chalet) full of praise for the layout , fitout and views. The Google image referred to was taken probably 4 years ago, when the chalets were just being built and does not show current landscaping, screen walls or the natural contours of the land.
The chalets are set in a group in the middle of 80 private acres and at different angles (not in a straight line) and therefore offer different views. We believe (and so do other guests) that the chalets have some of the best views in the area. Our pricing is considered very competitive and offers real value for money when comparing against other similar chalets.

I have stayed in many lovely resorts and this is certainly among one of the nicest.

Redgate Beach Escape comprises a few stand alone chalets situated in a remote bush location overlooking an endless expense of green foliage, azure sea and sky.
We were fortunate enough to stay at the Bussell, from which we had a lot of privacy, not having to look into the other chalets and had a magnificent, unblocked view of the surroundings.
For wine lovers, this property is conveniently located a mere 5 minute drive from superb wineries (which had excellent restaurants) in particular, the Leeuwin and Voyager Estates.
If you crave contact with civilisation, Margaret River town is a 10 minute drive away.
There is also the wildly beautiful Redgate Beach, which can be reached by car in about 3 minutes.

Our chalet looked new, well-maintained and was tastefully furnished in a modern balinese theme, with the usual amenities. The owners had also provided plenty of magazines, videos and games (absolutely essential to help entertain the kids as there was no TV or radio reception).
However, what I loved most were the wonderful views and to be surrounded by nature in a peaceful, quiet, beautiful setting, listening only to the sounds of the sea, birds and the wind.

A few less positive points to note about the chalet, though: there was no dryer, which could be a problem in the rainy season; there is only 1 tiny shower / bathroom with no real vanity cabinet which is quite a squeeze when there are more than 2 people sharing the chalet, not to mention, inconvenient; the wardrobes could have done with some dusting. Also, for urbanites like myself and my family, it would have been nice if there was a marked walking trail to help us explore the expansive grounds better.

However, these were minor inconveniences as the location and views more than made up for it.

  • Liked — Beautiful Views in a Clean Tastefully Decorated Chalet
  • Disliked — Tiny bathroom, no real vanity counter

The chalets each have a clothes line and now a clothes horse for those rainy days when you can't dry your clothes on the line outside.
The Bathrooms were designed to be functional and are tastfully decorated, but we opted away from Spa's and or large baths as they are very greedy water users. (Not environmentally sound)
The chalets now have TV reception as well.
All the chalets have ocean views. We have regulars that opt for different chalets each time. They are not set in a line but at different angles so all offer a different view (but all have great views) and their own advantage.
Come and visit..you'll love it!
