“Good spot for a pleasant lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I celebrated an anniversary here at lunch time. The venue is a bit like a large glass shed but the views of the winery are spectacular and the staff are outstanding in their professionalism. We shared the tasting plate and found the items and flavours enjoyable and interesting. Each item was a taste revelation; the flavours were sensational. We were also provided with some excellent complimentary bread and olive oil to help pass the short time before delivery of our order. As brûlée buffs, we couldn't resist the coconut brûlée, which also proved to be delicious, although the coconut angle was provided by an insipid accompanying granita. Overall, an excellent stop for foodies interested in exploring what this region has to offer. And very reasonably priced (certainly compared to what is offered in Perth).

“Duet of Tasting Plates”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

We decided to go here for lunch and did make a booking, wanting something special, a splurge. I wouldn't normally spend this much on lunch. The view, the service and meal were all first class. We enjoyed the tasting plate for our meal, a shared delight of various fresh produce that Margaret River has on offer. A colourful feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. With a lovely bottle of Watershed wine. Really we shouldn't have had dessert but we were on a roll, so went for the dessert tasting plate too. Wow! No diet food here but worth every mouthful! Delicious indeed. Would I go here again? Well, I couldn't afford it on a regular basis, but I would definitely like to! Some other guests who hadn't booked and arrived the same time as us went to the café which is in the same room...maybe that is cheaper?

“Incredibly rude management, lack of consideration for potential diners...”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2013

We checked the website and posted opening hours, got there at around 12:30 for lunch on a beautiful Saturday.

Manager, "Oh we couldn't possibly seat you without a reservation." - sour, mean look. INCREDIBLY UNPLEASANT.

Apparently, there was a wedding. How awful would that be to get married in such an unwelcoming atmosphere?!

Hey, I know, the management might have said something like, "We're terribly sorry. We have a big function today and we just can't fit any more tables in." Maybe with a little sincerity instead of snide elitism? Also, how about a banner on the website when large functions preclude everyday diners!?

The restaurant was fully booked and as the Restaurant Manager politely pointed out you had not made a reservation. We have a wedding every Saturday from September through to May and we can assure you that the weddings, which are all conducted in the evening, do not impact on your ability to make a reservation for lunch.

“Excellent all round!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

We had lunch at the winery and it was excellent. The food was beautifully cooked - one fish and one chicken, the wine was excellent in fact we bought some and then returned the next day to buy some more to take home! The service was excellent, the staff were so friendly and knew the menu and wines so well. The location was lovely we had a table by the window and looked out over the working vineyard.

“Chicken”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2013

I am 60 years of age and this was the best chicken I have every tasted in my life. According to the waitress, the chicken had been slow cooked and that contributed to the most delicious, moist and tasty poultry ever ! Congratulations chef
