We booked the Ocean Centre Suite for our wedding night - we had asked for a bottle of champagne to be waiting in our room for when we came. When we got there it was pushing 1am and it had been a long exhausting day - there was no champagne at all - all we wanted to do was sit on the balcony, share a few glasses of bubbly and reflect on the biggest day of our lives. So that was a little disappointing.
The next day we did let the reception know and they did rectify the issue with a bottle that night and free breakfast however by that stage the damage had been done - lets face it we wanted a drink on our wedding night as part of the celebration, not the next night after it.
The hotel was really nice and the suite was the best one in the hotel but due to that mistake our experience was tarnished.

We stayed at the Ocean Center Hotel in Geraldton after having spent a night in another hotel which we really weren't impressed with. Ocean Center was the total opposite of the other one: we had great service (with complimentary breakfast and drinks upon arrival), our room wasn't extremely modern but it was very spacious and clean, which was great. The location is ideal, a stone's throw away from the seashore, and just nearby several restaurants and bars.

OK so $150 room only per night was not cheap, however with other options in 1970s motels at $120-$130 is is worth the difference. Although the hotel is about 25 years old it is still in good modern condition. Room 317 was bigger than average with quality TV and office desk and chair. Overhead fan and aircon was good. In room bar drinks was reasonable - Becks beer $6
Location is excellent.
Only problem was the free in house movies - althought good selection of recent movies, the selection booklet did not correspond with what was shown - thats useless.
Still - I will stay here again.

Room Tip: Paying an extra $50 per night for the balcony rooms would not have been worth it.

Very central hotel.

Stayed one night in downstairs back room with vehicle backed up right by the door.

Cheap night and okay room for the price.

Not a sea view but still close enough for a walk and a good restaurant right across the road.

Everything we needed in the room, which was comfortable enough though dating a bit now.

Very friendly and helpful staff, with complementary drinks at the bar.

Safe parking but be in early. Behind security gate and limited parking if hotel full.

Cheers

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view, might be a little dearer.

We had a Harbour View for $200 shackles a night, the view was great and the sound of the ocean thumping on the sand was fantastic.. The room itself was fairly average though, pretty much all round. Don’t get us wrong, we had more than enough room for the two of us to rattle around in, it just felt a little on the sparse side. It was reasonably clean, not the Sparkle arkle that you’d expect from a newly refurbished hotel, but a reasonable effort had been made.. The queen size bed was quite comfy and the linen was clean and fresh. The walls seemed quite thin though with noises various breaking through the serenity of the ocean sounds.. if you know what we mean. Then there was the odd knucklehead on the foreshore yahooing at the smallest hours of the night, but you’ll get that at pretty much any beachfront hotel. Probably of most concern though was the temperamental shower with the temperature fluctuating between ‘core of the planet’ hot to sub artic blizzard, certainly wouldn’t want your kids in there unattended..
Like most hotels, the Mini Bar is the most expensive place to eat and drink in the entire city.. and the hotel restaurant only seemed to be available for breakfast. However as there are many little places in close proximity this is no drama at all.. The Bakery (about 100 metres) puts on a great little breakfast for just $9, and the ‘Dome is a short stroll along the beachfront..
It’s in a great location on the foreshore, close enough to walk to all the things we wanted to see and do, leaving the vehicle in the car park all weekend. Only mere metres from the main drag with numerous eateries and watering holes within staggering distance. All the better in the evenings when we headed home from the pubs.. The Delongi coffee maker in the room was a welcome addition on the mornings after.. Nice work!!

We have stayed here several times now, we use it to break up our journeys to the north west and back. Its a bit dated but its ok for an overnighter or 2. We always get the rooms on the ground floor with sliding doors facing the car park so we can park our 4WD right at the front of our room. That way we dont need to unpack much and if we forget something we have to go a few steps to our car. We are not here for the sights, its a comfy room and a bed for the night. The car park is gated security so you know your car is safe, the rooms on the bottom floor also have electric roller shutters on the sliding doors. We pay $150 a night and they give you 2 free drink vouchers when you check in. Its pleasant enough, clean and tidy and very central. You must go around the corner to the Freemasons for a few beers and the Steak. Walk there, amble back.

Room Tip: If you want ocean views, ask for the balcony rooms. If you want to a bed for the night and be near y...

With the increase in mining out side Geraldton and more & more industry in Geraldton, accommodation can be hard to find. The Ocean Centre is central, has comfortable rooms. The rooms at the ocean side have great views. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but they have arrangements with a few local restaurants to charge back to your room.

Room Tip: If you can get a room on the ocean side, the views are worth it.
