“Family visit with young children”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

The restaurant is adorned with gold plate awards going back over a number of years, which suggests that they have a winning formula. We were seated in a lounge area whilst the staff made up a table with a high chair for our youngest. Once seated the service flowed with menu's, drinks and crayons / paper for our oldest grand-daughter.

We share a couple of entrees, followed by a selection from the lunchtime menu. The food was tasty and well presented. Although it did seem to take a while between courses which was down to the homemade chicken, leek and ham pie cooking time.

The children's menu was excellent and the presentation even better, a miture of offering served in a square dish with compartments for each food type.

The staff were very attentive and friendly adding to the overall ambience. This restaurant is worth a visit.

“Hit and miss (mostly miss)”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2014

I can't comment on the menu as we have only stopped in for a coffee and cake a few times.

Only buy a piece of cake from an uncut cake other wise it will be stale. So choose wisely.

My fiancé had an Iced chocolate which tasted very powdery and unpalatable. The staff were happy to replace it with one made with real chocolate which was an improvement but still not very nice.

Cappuccinos can range from watery to bold, so there is inconsistancy from the baristas.

When ordering a coffee and cake and after paying, we get asked to sit around the corner where there are uncomfortable seats, dirty tables (most full of dishes) and stale air. (best to sit outside if possible)

“Pricey for coffee and cake”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2014 via mobile

My husband and I decided to visit Mojos for coffee and cake. For 2 slices of cake and 2 mugs of coffee it came to $25. This I wouldnt have minded but the cakes weren't overly special. It was quiet in there that day, one other day in the coffee area. But there were 3 tables with dirty dishes and mugs on them, which made it hard to choose somewhere to sit when most tables were 'dirty'. It was quite a surprise when the waitstaff had no one to serve. A bit average.

“Mixed bag...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

Mixed feelings really - menu interesting and varied but food didn't quite deliver. I ordered polenta, hazelnuts and parsnip cream which sounded interesting but was tiny (not a main size in anyone's language) whereas my husbands steak was a VERY generous meal although not specially well cooked. A bit pretensious but helpful well meaning staff. A bit overpriced and while the menu seems interesting it's also slightly oddball. Risotto made from pasta rather than rice?

Thank you for your review will discuss your issues with the menu withe Chef, so he can use your feedback to make the dishes better. As to price we try to source local products where possible & whilst it may not be evident on the menu. Local produce is more expensive than using imported or products outside our region.
The staff at all times try very hard to be helpful. Im sorry if you thought they were pretentious.
Its hard to know what level of service appeals to all our customers but we prefer to over deliver than have bad customer service. Hope we can improve next time you visit.

“Over priced mush”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014 via mobile

Starters was out of a packet.
Mains was only just palatable. Overall a bad meal. The only good part was a couple of team members who gave good service. Not the waiter who was helping himself to beer! Not a good look for any restaurant
