“I prefer Koombana Bay.....”
Reviewed January 24, 2014 via mobile

Really lovely beach, awesome view, but personally I prefer Koombana, the water is much calmer and nicer to swim in if you've got kids or aren't that confident of a swimmer. Other than that, it's a really nice beach, gets a decent amount of breeze which is great during the hot weather.

“Great beach”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

Nice beach with promenade. Much prefer Bunbury to busselton. Not far from town centre. The backdrop of the lighthouse is fun tool

“It's Simply Stunning”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

I remember a few years ago, one of my former work colleauges visited Bunbury from Canada, and fell in love with the place because of the stunning deep turqouise water of the Back Beach.  She was right.  The beach caters for everyone who visits . Parents can take their children to play or build sandcastles, swim safely or just enjoy playing chasing or beach volley ball.  For those who like jogging or walking, you can do that along Ocean Drive either towards the city or Maidens Reserves.  If you walk towards the city, you will arrive at the Wyalup - Rocky Point Basalt Rock where you can enjoy watching the stunning mixture  of pink, orange and bright red colours of the sunset.  It is just amazing.  People congregate in the park for BBQs
with friends and families as gas  BBQs are availabe  for public to use free of charge. From this park you can see the lighthouse which was built in 1841 and still in use until today.  But if you walk along Ocean Drive away from the city, you will arrive at the Maidens Reserve car park.  You can continue your walk through sand dunes and hills.   The reserve  comes to life with beautiful, colourful wild flowers in the spring and at the same time you can enjoy the endless deep blue of the Indian Ocean.  The surface of 1.8 km trail is crushed limestone, hence it can be slippery. So please be careful.  When you plan to walk along the Back Beach, please do take your camera with you. It is just a simply stunning place to be.

“Good for familiy outing”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Great place for a family get together. Well laid out amenities. Do not recommend Noovoh Restaurant which is located there. Relatively safe beach, relaxing picnic areas and plenty of parking. All good.

“Nice beach and strong waves”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

The beach was very quiet, nice and clean. I was not a keen swimmer and I did not see anyone swimming. The water was clean and the sight of waves banging against the rocks was wonderful. A bit lonely though. Good place for people who want a quiet place to relax.
