When staying away from home I usual insist on clean, smart and modern. If it ticks those boxes then I'm usually happy.

Fortunately Quest has a decent reputation and having used them a few times in Australia I had no real hesitation in choosing them when visiting Warrnambool.

We (me, my wife, our 2 young kids and the inlaws) were only in town for one night and the reduced rate was good enough to persuade us to book a 3 bedroom apartment.

The Reception staff were exceptionaly friendly, the apartment was ready early and it was spotlessly clean, modern and smart.

The kitchen had all the usual equipment, and all modern. The furniture and decor were good and we had no complaints at all about the apartment.

There is a small swimming pool which was perfect for our 2 young kids. After a long drive it was excellent to chick them in the pool for an hour or so.

The location is great. At the end of Liebeg street, so only a 1 minute walk to shops, restaurants and bars. And not a million miles from the adventure playground, Flagstaff and the beach.

You can also order food from a local restaurant and have it delivered - plates and all. The cost is added to your room bill. We used Images restaurant. Not cheap but good quality and generous portions.

On the downside, and these are minor complaints:

Whilst the location is great, Warrnambool can get a little noisy on a Saturday night and we were woken a few times by some boisterous groups, and also some traffic noise.

We could hear discussions from the next apartment early Sunday morning. No raised voices so I guess the insulation is generally not top notch.

There were only 5 tv stations to choose from. Not an issue for us but I guess some folks may want more, especially if the stay was longer than one night.

We originally booked into the Sundowner Motor Inn, a 4-1/2 star AA rated property 1km from the Quest thinking it was a fine establishment. Were we ever wrong!!! Just about everything that could be wrong with a hotel, was wrong with the Sundowner. Luckily, we had driven past the Quest while waiting for our room (which was late being ready). We were so glad to find the Quest. It looked new and modern from the outside, and an inspection of the room did not disappoint. Staying two nights, it was one place along our trip of the Great Ocean Road that really felt like home. Warm and inviting, clean, surprisingly spacious and well appointed.

Although we rellied on Macdonalds most of the time, the kitchen could easily enable one to preapare a fine meal and they offer a breakfast pack delivered to you're door.

The staff were proffessional and nice. Despite arriving off the street during a power blackout, they were calm and eagerly showed me a room.

Convienient to all Warrnambool has to offer and situated in a leafy street with minimal road noise, there is little doubt that Warrnambool has no finer accommodation than Quest.

I loved this place! It is low rise, with several apartments and studios grouped around a small car park and with a small pool. They are perfectly positioned at the end of Liebig Street which is Warrnambool's main street so there are lots of eateries within easy walking distance. But, the facilities, comfort and ambiance of the apartment were so good, even better than home, that we decided to self cater - and Coles supermarket is just up the road too. There was a full size oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, and a whole range of cooking equipment. Crockery and cutlery was stylish and just crying out for someone to use it! I am sure no-one had ever used the grill before. There was also a washer and dryer in the bathroom, which was very welcome after a week travelling. There was a full size bath and the bed was very comfortable.
The apartments are also convenient for Flagstaff Hill, which is within walking distance if you are able to walk up hills on the way home. Likewise, Lake Pertobe Park and the beach is about 15 minutes downhill walk (but a bit steep coming back up!), and there is a lovely boarded walk along the beach front. If you can't manage the hills, walk out of the apartments, turn right and walk a few yard to the end of the road for an amazing view over the park, the beach and the ocean.
The staff were very friendly at the apartments, gave us lots of advice on where to go, and I was so impressed I went straight to the Internet café next morning to find out where there was a Quest on the rest of our itinerary and to change our bookings so we could use them.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom townhouse with 4 adults and 2 kids. Plenty of room for all. A main bedroom with ensuite with large kitchen, dining and lounge area. Downstairs has 2 bedrooms with a bathroom. There is also a washing machine and dryer. We stayed for one night but you could actually live here quite comfortably! I can't speak highly enough of Quest. We will stay here again next time we travel to this region. Great location within the town, with a supermarket within walking distance.

We a party of five comfortably stayed at two-bedroom apartment with two bath after our trip at Port Campbell.

The location is in the heart of the town, dining is close by which is good for a small town like Warranmbool.

There is an ensuite with a queen bed, the second bedroom is with twin beds. Another double sofa bed is in the living room.
The second bath room is equpped with washer and dryer with laudry detergent too. A surprise. The apartment is pretty new and very clean.

A good size breakfast area in the open kitchen. utensils, Chinas set good for six guests. Microwave, things you have at home, you find it here.

Only the living room got a powerful splittype aircon.

The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Just that the pool is too small. Well, that's not what you and I aim for in a seaside town.

It is good value. We will choose Quest in other locations too.

What a great find for $A99 per night! At the end of a long day driving the Great Ocean Road, we arrived with pleasure.
Located in the main street, main part of town, and 20 steps from about 5 restaurants and walking distance to all attractions. Apartments were excellent, great value. Parking was convenient and free, wonderful experience all around (but a minor issue - walls are a little thin and could hear laughing next door, no big deal). Otherwise very quiet location and peaceful. Kitchen in the studio was well set out and bathroom was lovely. Very good alround experience.
