We had not eaten at Mirka for several years and were delighted to find the restaurant still offers great food and affordable prices.
We took advantage of the lunch menu. As of June, prices are $40 for two courses and $50 for three, with a glass of wine or a coffee. Since most mains are approximately $30, this deal is really good value. And servings are generous, so two courses will probably suffice.
Both of us chose the duck ravioli for entree. The delicious morsels of pasta came in a fragrant broth. For mains, I chose the baby snapper accompanied by kifpler potatoes and rocket. The fish was moist and flavourful. My partner chose slow-cooked beef cheeks, with kale. We both really enjoyed our meals.
The house wines were good, too. We could not resist having a second glass, at $8. All-in-all we had a lovely lunch and will be back again before too long. We were reminded how lucky we are to live in a city with so many good restaurants offering healthy, innovative cuisine. Our recent experience with food in the US had been mixed, to say the least. So good to be back home!
