We stayed for a week in a2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was in need of repairs but this did not really affect our stay. The staff were helpful and having the daily paper available was good. The kitchen was big but we found it lacked power points. The apartment we had had a balcony but this faced the main road and was close to footpath so could not be used except to dry clothes if you felt OK about having your clothes out for all to see. I was a bit concerned about security but it was OK. The parking underneath was fine but the spaces were tight in some spots. Restaurants are around the corner in Fitzroy St and you need to walk about 2-3 blocks to main part or get a tram down to St Kilda beach area. The gym was in ned of attention as machines were broken and also no swimming pool. The air conditioning in the room only had two outlets and so the main room did not have outlet which was not great given when we travelled it was 40 degrees each day. Also no full length mirror.

Thank you for your review on the property.

I am so pleased to hear that you found the location and the access a major plus for your stay. While we don't have a restaurant on-site we are always happy to explain where some of the best restaurants in the area are and only a short walk or tram ride away.

The overall presentation of the property and the rooms is being reviewed but our maintenance program has since been improved as well as some presentation projects around the property which we hope you will notice and enjoy.

The configurations of the rooms can me matched up to the travelers requirements which includes full length mirrors and different layouts to the kitchen's. We always welcome our guests to let us know if there is something specific they need for their stay and we will do our best to accommodate this.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We stayed for 3 days and had a great time. Our one bedroom apartment was clean and had virtually everything we needed to cook meals each night if we wanted. Like someone else said regarding the spa, there are signs in the bathrooms saying "due to water restrictions they cannot be used". When we booked the room there was no mention of a spa in the list of facilities available so to us this wasnt a problem. When I needed to find a doctor on a sunday arvo the staff found one and called the surgery to confirm they were open. Parking is an additional cost but at $15 per night its very cheap given the area. The only gripe I have was the $300 card authorisation for a security bond which may take up to a week to release. This is not unique to this hotel however and is an annoying problem all around the country.

Room Tip: Ask for a room above the entrance to the hotel car park if possible as its very quiet. Would imagin...

Thank you for your positive review on the property.

I am so pleased to hear that the staff were able to assist with your requirements. Quest On St Kilda Road prides itself on hearing your comments and making changes wherever possible.

For this reason we have adjusted our payment requirements and also updated our credit card terminals to reduce the hold period on the card. If for any reason these funds do not clear in a timely manner we have steps we can take to make this process quicker.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the property in the future.

Shower door broken on arrival. First chap asked us to live with it. Had to insist on repair. As with the shower door, most of the apartment looked somewhat dated.

Reception refused to book a taxi for our departure to the airport. For this alone, thus company should not be in the hospitality business.

Thank you for taking the time to review this property.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience with this property. I am pleased to advise that there have been major changes take place in this property, which includes a whole new management team and reception staff.

We have some exciting projects taking place around the property and in our rooms. Although these projects are in planning stage and some have taken place, we certainly have worked on the service standards and we are hoping to make this a property where everyone will want to stay.

We stayed at Quest St Kilda Road for four days. Our ground floor, one bedroomed unit was a decent size and included a washing machine and tumble drier - great to have when travelling. The kitchen space was good, and the bed and bedding comfortable. As others have noted, the units are a bit dated and could do with a refresher of sorts. The extractor fan in the bathroom was not working and we did ask for it to be attended to (this didn't seem to happen). Also, a sign in the bathroom noted that the spa bath was not to be used due to water restrictions - it would be a good idea to tell clients this when bookings are made as some may want to use a spa bath and it would impact on their booking decision. There is no free wireless internet access - you would have to log in to an external pay service if you wished to access internet. Reception staff were generally friendly but could do with more info about local facilities - when we asked what time the IGA grocery store shut at night the response was 'late'; when we got to the store it had shut already. Talking of facilities, the place is well located with restaurants and pubs not too much of a walk away. Trams stops to the city and the bay are also close. There is also onsite parking - at a fee.

So generally a good option if you are not looking for 'top of the range' and can cope with the slightly dated decor and fixtures.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not located near the stairwell as these can be noisy.

This accommodation was chosen due to the proximity to a function. The ground floor 2 bedroom apartment was spacious, clean and had everything including a full kitchen and laundry. Undercover is highly recommended to be paid in addition to accommodation, on road parking is not only limited but costs more. Surprisingly I wasn't woken up by any of the traffic noise or drunken pedestrian traffic. The location is great for joggers there is a paved path all the way to St Kilda beach and Port Melbourne. Ample restaurants, bars and cafes litter the surrounding area with a farmers markets here in the park on Saturdays. The only warning is that St Kilda has a diverse population, most locals are friendly but it does attract the boozing pub/bar population and itinerants.

Good location, pleasant staff, comfortable room with all the basics. Parking available at cost but secure and easy access off side street. Plenty of restaurants and a supermarket just around the corner.

Friendly helpful staff - but few. We stayed on a public holiday - Melbourne Cup Day - and were not told because of this the room would not be cleaned. Fresh towels were made available at reception.

Not enough mirrors. Not enough hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels. Nowhere in shower recess to put soaps etc.

Car security parking is very good value.

On arrival to our apartment the place reeked of cigarette smoke. The friendly helpful staff were obliging in moving us to a new room which was lovely.

The rooms are of a very generous size, and generally quite clean.

The kitchen was lacking in utensils and equipment that would have been useful in being self contained i.e. being able to cook meals. Some more pots and pans, especially a functional non stick frying pan. The fridge door does not close properly.

The resident cat is friendly enough to come into the round floor room we had.

The double glazed windows help give a very serene level of tranquility considering the place is at the junction of two main roads.

Maintenance is somewhat lacking with a very noisy shower; a shower door that sticks and traps one in the shower; and wardrobe doors that wake the neighbours. The shower is VERY noisy - for a two bedroom apartment the noise is enough to wake everybody.

An easy walk to the tram. Lots of interesting architecture nearby, as well as a massive big park - Albert Park.

Room Tip: Although on a main road double glazing reduces the noise considerably. Ask for a non smoking room.
