We loved our 3-night stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel! The front desk attendant was so friendly and informative, our room was absolutely huge and very clean, and best of all it is nearby all of St. Kilda's best sights! If you stay there, definitely go to the bar at Claypots Seafood Bar and order the housebrewed 'Gilgamesh' cider! It was to die for!

My only gripe is that our room was facing the backpackers hostel across the street, where kids would gather until 3am and scream loudly. So, we were woken a few times.

Room Tip: Ask that your room is on the other side of the hotel from the hostel.

We stayed for a weekend in St Kilda, and loved the location. We walked to several fantastic cafes nearby for meals. Easy walk to the beach and the markets on the Esplanade, and nearby tram took us into town no troubles. Was a little noisy with people and traffic on the street outside. But all in all, a good stay.

Dear Heather B,

Our central location in the trendy St Kilda Hub is a hot favourite with our guests from the West, being a mere 15 minutes from the city (via tram) , and 5 minutes walk from the beach!

I am delighted to hear that the hustle and bustle of our vibrant neighbourhood did not overshadow your experience with us. Thank you for your review and hope to see you over this side again soon!

Warmest regards

We stayed here for one night and were very impressed with the helpful, caring service of reception staff and it's convenient location being right next to Acland St. A few minor things about the hotel room itself, cheap shower head with hard pressure resulting in water going everywhere, no tissues and hard, flat pillows, but considering the price we payed, we were pretty happy.
The buffet breakfast is a must, great service with lots of options of beautiful, quality, fresh food.
We will stay here again!

First of all I want to give a big thank you to the staff here as they were all terrific, especially the girl with the shortish curly hair. I started with a two night stay and ended up extending to six nights while looking for longer term housing in Melbourne. They were able to keep me in the same room every night with a room rate i could afford, and i enjoyed chatting with every one of them. As for the room, i stayed in the petite room and i would definitely say that the room type is only good for solo travelers or a couple on a short stay. As the word petite is not an understatement! That being said, the room was designed very well, and still managed to contain all the necessities. Also the bed and pillows were excellent, i got a great nights sleep every night there. If i could nitpick a couple things to improve, one would be providing tissues for guests. It was pretty lame that i had to blow my nose with toilet paper the whole week. And also maybe installing a nice rain type shower head as the current ones are cheap and too strong. If you want to test the temperature of the water before getting in, you end up getting almost the entire floor wet in the small bathroom! But i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to others, and would look forward to staying here some day in the future...

Dear bbdect,

Thank you for your wonderful review!

It is a delight to see that we were able to accommodate your needs and ensure your comfort for an extended 6 day stay. Our team members truly have a genuine desire to help our guests, striving to offer options in a flexible and helpful manner. Yvette and the rest of our team members you encountered will be ecstatic to hear that they've had such a wonderful impact on your experience with us - thank you for mentioning it.

For the benefit of other readers facial tissues are available in all our guests’ rooms, however reflecting on bbdects comments we are re-evaluating the bedside drawer storage of these, (in the Cosmo Petite rooms) moving forward.

bbdect “Book with confidence” is a strong recommendation and we really appreciate it!

We look forward to your next visit.

Warmest regards

We just wanted a hotel to stay overnight after attending a wedding in the St Kilda area and this fitted the bill perfectly. It was a very small room but it was only for a nights sleep, and the room was neat and tidy, coffee/tea making facilities, a small room bathroom with a shower and toilet. Slept well as the bed was comfortable enough although not a queen or king size, and surprisingly a very quiet area. Obviously there are larger rooms available for those staying a bit longer and it is walking distance to all the sights, such as Luna Park, walk the Esplanade and the beach when a bit warmer. It is convenient for those flying in as the Southern Suburbs Airport Bus stops right outside the hotel.
For an extra cost of about $15 per person breakfast is available at the restaurant attached to this hotel and you can get all the usual, cereals, porridge, breads, fruit, cold meats and cheeses, etc, and of course eggs done how you want.
Overall the hotel was perfect for what we required.

Dear Leigh C,

With several wedding venues close by such as Riva, Red Scooter and Encore (to name a few), the Cosmopolitan Hotel is a very affordable accommodation choice for guests searching for somewhere comfortable and close by, to spend the night after their special event.

With 8 room categories on offer, sleeping up to families and parties of 4 we really have something for everyone. Thank you for highlighting our easy access via the Airport Bus, being on the southern side of the city, I am sure this is a common question new guests to Melbourne may be wondering about.

Thank you for your review Leigh C, we look forward to your next visit.

Warmest regards

Second time at this hotel, and not disappointed...main reception has had a bit of a facelift, looks really good when you enter...we stayed in a studio room which was a little bit tired and could do with a paint and some new carpet...on saying that the bed was really comfortable and the towels were lovely and soft...they were not stingy with tea, coffee, shampoo etc...the reception staff were excellent and very accommodating...went to breakfast at the hotel, beautiful buffet, plenty of everything and the bacon tasted like real bacon...excellent position to everything in St Kilda including public transport...well done Cosmo see you next year.

Room Tip: Not much of a view from any of the rooms..so don't make this a priority.

Dear thaiforever,

Our MicroCloud bedding, and Romy (in room) bathroom ammenities are well liked by our guests, and I am delighted to hear that our staff continue to be generous in the replenishing of these items in our room servicing. At the Cosmopolitan Hotel our guests comfort is paramount and we realise the small things really do matter!

I am proud to say that our hotel foyer underwent a soft refurbishment in November 2011 and this is only one of the many hotel improvements that have taken place since then. This is following on from the setup of free Wi-Fi across the property, the introduction of double-glazed (including opening function) windows to our Barkly Wing (on all the Albert Street facing Deluxe rooms) and the installation of brand new curtains within all of our Acland Wing rooms late last year. You will be glad to know we have some painting scheduled for our Studio rooms in the upcoming months.

Thank you for dining in our onsite café Chalk – our chef will be very pleased to hear he cooked the bacon (that tastes like bacon) to your liking!

We really appreciate your review and look forward to welcoming you back next year!

Warmest regards

We stayed for the weekend in a one bedroom apartment which was very clean and spacious for the two of us. Great location with secure on-site parking. Easy walk to Acland Street and St Kilda Beach. Comfortable bed and great shower, however the bathroom was lacking in towel rails/ hooks behind the door would be useful. The kitchen facilities were compact but useful with a microwave, toaster and full fridge.
The only dampener of our stay was the noisy guest (and his guitar) in room 133 who had no appreciation for other guests staying in the block. Thankfully his guitar practice and singing only went to 9pm, unfortunatelyit was outside our door on the landing.

Dear MP_and_HG,

It is really nice to have some feedback regarding our Standard One Bedroom apartment category. Located in the Carlisle wing, they are a fantastic choice for space, comfort and all the basic modern conveniences you require. We love suggestions regarding hotel improvements, we will certainly look into it!

I do hope you notified our reception staff to the musical styling’s of your neighbour. We are available 24/7 to assist with any queries.

Thank you for staying and your review.
