stayed in a premier delux double room on the 3rd floor front facing. Room was ok but a little tired although the shower was good. Had a problem with noisr till 3.30 am from the backpackers 'hotel' directly opposite, not the best experience , the reception stated there was nothing they could do.
stayed an extra night but had to move into an self catering apartment, this was gloomy and required a good bathroom clean.
    TOP TIPS
toured the great ocean road for $95 with wild wombat escapes which were spot on and could be faulted.
fish &chips from the local shop in st kilda about 300 mts were the best ever

Room Tip: don't accept the front facing rooms

    Dear Kirkella,

Thank you for staying at the Cosmopolitan Hotel.

I am disappointed to see that your overall experience was tarnished by the noise from our neighbours and I trust you received my personal email regarding this.

Our location in the heart of vibrant St Kilda regrettably does not make us immune from the hustle and bustle around us. We offer a variety of room appointments which appeal to different travellers. If the Cosmo Deluxe wasn't for you, perhaps one of our Deluxe Terrace rooms with a north facing appointment, views of residential St Kilda (from your own balcony), modern decor and in-room facilities, may be a right fit on your next visit.

    Thanks again

    Warmest regards

The cosmopolitan is in a great location in St Kilda a minutes walk from two different tram routes, clean light and bright friendly staff and reasonably priced.
Restaurants bars, cafes, cake shops and all the quirkiness that makes St. Kilda so interesting right at your door.

It appears that The Cosmopolitan is an old motel that has been refurbished. I think it depends on what section of the hotel you stay in as to the level of refurbishment and to the noise level. Our bathroom was tiny and the rooms were extremely noisy by day and night. Furnishings were fine. On the plus side it is a great location, the bedy was comfy and the parking was free. If you are in St Kilda for sight seeing it's great but don't expect to get a good sleep in if you have had a big night!

Room Tip: Stay away from the Acland side.

    Dear Justine K,

You are absolutely right; Our hotel owner took over the property in 2002 and it was known prior to that as the Cosmopolitan Motor Inn. The buildings have undergone transformations and updates over the 10 years. Today, what we are proud to offer, is a range of clean modern accommodation, with styles and prices to suit the most discerning traveller.

Thank you for pointing out our bed comfort, for that extra added softness we introduced MicroCloud bedding late last year and is well received by our guests.

Thank you for staying, and hope to see you again in the future!

    Warmest regards

Very nice for the price and free parking is available. Free wifi is great and this was fantastic location for getting into Melbourne. There are also plenty of restaurants in the area if you are inclined to stay near the hotel in the evening. The room was modern and the bathroom looked recently renovated. We were there for 3 nights and our only issue was that one day it seemed Housekeeping was a bit sub-par. A towel was left out on the counter along with mug a drying on the bare counter and a used glass was left on one bedside. Also the bathroom light was on and bed looked hastily made. Perhaps the person was interrupted mid-cleaning and never returned? The following day the cleaning was completed as expected. A big plus was also their assistance with the tram. They had tram cards available to borrow, which could be filled at a 7-11 around the corner. The tram ride into Melbourne was approximately 20 mins. We would stay again for sure! Removed one star only for the semi-incomplete cleaning after the first night.

    Dear Guyutte999,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Cosmopolitan Hotel.

It is really nice to hear your feedback on our Myki loan cards for guests. This initiative aims to assist guests (new to Melbourne), in the introduction to the public transportation, which differs state to state in Australia. Just one of the many little extra services available at our reception desk.

Thank you for the heads up regarding your room service, hopefully we can earn back that star on your next visit!

    Warmest regards

I am from Singapore and I stayed at Cosmopolitan hotel for 6 nights. It's a boutique hotel and I had a pleasant stay. Room was being tidied up everyday and new towels were provided every single day. The staffs at the reception were excellent (the males ones). One of them was very helpful in giving my directions and which trams I should take to go to the city. He even gave me a map.

Hotel is about 7 minutes walk to St Kilda's beach. A lot of good cafes and restaurants that are located very near to the hotel. There are few groceries stores / supermarkets, 7-11 is about 3 minutes walk. If you're hungry at night, don't worry as Mcdonalds is located about 2 minutes walk from the hotel.

The only problem is you have to to take the tram to go to the city and journey is about 30-40 minutes (depending on traffic). And many tour groups do not provide pick up service at St Kilda.

Anyhow, St Kilda is a very vibrant place. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the great service :)

    Dear Risa_Riss

Thank you for staying and for your kind review!

I am delighted you found your stay to be as pleasant, as it was convenient due to our centralised location.

For the benefit of other readers the #96 tram (Melbourne’s light rail) takes 15-20 minutes to the city centre, however #16 tram (an alternative route) regrettably can take a little longer, due to some temporary road works near the Domain Interchange. My advice is to use the light rail, which will bring you straight to Bourke Street, in the city centre.

At the Cosmopolitan Hotel we work with various tour providers. Many will offer a hotel pick-up, and those that don’t, request you to make your way to Federation Square. Our friendly reception staff are more than happy to talk you through what’s tours are on offer and the best ways to get there.

Risa_Riss, hopefully we will see you again for another week long stay in the future, and we’d be delighted to arrange some more site-seeing adventures for you!

    Thanks again and warmest regards
