We booked into this motel at lunchtime on the day we were due to arrive just prior to the New Year Holiday. In our application we put that I needed a gluten-free diet - something that is often hard to find and because this was a budget hotel we didn't expect that I would get anything other than a salad or similar at short notice. What a surprise we got! We were greeted by a friendly Austrian lady who was running the place singlehandedly that night and she immediately told us that she had got gone out and bought gluten-free bread for me. (Wow! What service!) While the room we had was small, it was a budget price, had everything we needed and was very clean. The restaurant food however surpassed anything I could have wished for. The meals were all authentically Austrian, extremely tasty, and the dear lady who was the proprietor made sure every meal she served me was gluten free. It turned out that she had a daughter who was gluten intolerant so she knew exactly what was needed. We stayed 4 nights and ate in the restaurant every night. The front of the motel did not look particularly appealing and we might have passed it by if we had driven through Sale looking for accommodation, but we would have really missed out if we had done so. The garden at the back was beautifully laid out,...We booked into this motel at lunchtime on the day we were due to arrive just prior to the New Year Holiday. The garden at the back was beautifully laid out, peaceful, and every evening the rainbow lorikeets flew in to entertain us. If you are coeliac and need a gluten-free diet then I can recommend this place wholeheartedly above some of the more expensive plush motels in Sale. (On a previous trip I had gone to a motel that cost $50 per night more and the only g/f food I could find that night in Sale was chips at McDonalds!)More
