“Very nice but watch out for the bathroom light!”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

This hotel is nice. My only issue was the lighting in the toilet. There is a “heater light” which can probably fry you if kept on while you’re in there. I don’t get the point. It’s massively bright and painful. Just put a normal heater in the bathroom already!
Another thing which isn’t really the hotel’s problem is that the area is a bit dead at night. Absolutely nothing was happening while we were out there. Thank God it was only a one night stay. There are a couple of restaurants and sadly we happened to eat at what I think was the worst place we could set foot in. Please stay away from RSL if you can help it. I was seduced by the cost of the food, but should have known better. Perhaps choose to have dinner at the hotel. We opted for breakfast at a place called Vibez. Delicious- highly recommend it!
Not sure if I would stay at the hotel again simply because of the lack of nightly entertainment.

I'm sick of staying at hotels that have a captive audience and exploit that position. Our room was quite nice and clean but not by any standard 4 star compared to say Melbourne. They didn't service the room at all. Lakes Entrance has a paucity of quality (none actually) accommodation and food outlets and this is the jewel in the shabby crown.

I was very disappointed with the massage at the spa centre. I booked in to get my neck and arm massaged as was having problems with it. I repeatedly asked the masseuse to work a bit harder and to work on my arm which was the reason I had the massage in the first place. Instead she ignored me and didn't even touch my arm. Very strange.

Room Tip: Rooms on the river side will be quieter

Stayed in a standard guest room. Great views over the harbour which were even better at sunrise. Close to Ferryman's Seafood Restaurant (must do!). Very helpful staff. Buffet breakfast sets you up for a great day's sightseeing.

Stayed in 2 bedroom deluxe suite, which had a nice big balcony with plenty nof sun chairs on it. Whilst it was nice, the area didn't look like it had been cleaned for a while, so it was a bit off putting. The aartment itself was nice and had plenty of room for a couple and 2 young kids. The highlight for the kids was the option of both an outdoor and indoor pool. The weather varied a bit during our stay, so it was great to still be able to use either one each day we were there. If you are happy to get away, relax and let the kids be kids, it's a pretty good stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a suite with a larger balcony.

The name of this accommodation is misleading. This is NO resort and spa.

Staying in a 3 bedroom suite over the recent long weekend I was told by the spa staff that I couldn’t make a reservation for a treatment because she wasn’t opening unless she has enough business.
Absolutely disgraceful! The staff at the hotel didn’t care.

Only the lounge room had air-conditioning which meant hot bedrooms!

Our fridge was leaking and broken.

Meals are overpriced. They offered us $10 meal vouchers only to be used on a main meal at dinner. Try the sports club down the road, great service and good food. Family friendly also.

I highly recommend you stay anywhere but this ‘resort & spa’ or take a holiday overseas to at least great some good service.

Room Tip: don't stay here

Stayed in a 3 bdrm apt with 3 couples. Very disappointed with results. Apts are very small and balconys do not accommodate. Shifts need to be taken with 3 adults at a time. No such thing as eating outside. Weather was great whilst there, so this was most disappointing. Shower in main ensuite very small also. Difficult to bend over to wash your toes or if you drop the soap. Carpets were absolutley disgusting & needed to be replaced, as I don't think that cleaning would make much difference. Beyond it now. Would definitley not let children sit or play on them. I even made sure that I had shoes on, all the time I was walking on them.
For a resort that is supposed to be newer and more upmarket than most in Lakes Entrance, I was most dissapointed. Do your research before booking this one. They could make it the best in Lakes, but obviously choose not to for some reason. Facilities excellent, especially the restaurant. Had a fantastic meal with great service.
Also if you have issues with traffic noise, maybe ask for a room at the back of the building that faces the "north arm". Our room was right on the esplanade and copped all the traffic noise as it was very close to the road. No fans or AC in bedrooms as well so you need to have windows open. Shame for such a negative review, as it could have been much better. Design plays a big part.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back facing the North Arm to avoid traffic noise. Make sure that the carpets have been...

The property is probably one of the better properties in town, but the owners appear to have taken advantage of that position by not maintaining the property. External appearance is great. Pool area is great, however stinky lifts, really bad bed mattresses, and pathetic sofa made it uncomfortable.
Worse still is that the airconditioning in the room NEVER cooled down the room and we stayed in the middle of a summer. The airconditioning unit is simply too small for the size of the space it is trying to cool. We had to sleep on the sofa at one point just to cool ourselves down!
