“Very tasty old style menu”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

The menu features old style meals that have been beautifully cooked and are very tasty. I had a Wimmera Tbone with mushroom sauce that was succulent and tasty. There is an excellent walk in cellar in which you choose your wine for the meal. The exceptional Australian art on the walls was a surprise.
The service was friendly and efficient.

“Like Some Art With Your Meal?”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

This dinner was more an experience than a meal. We wanted a quiet place, and we got a rustic building, a big open fire, a few other quiet groups of diners and a wealth of great paintings by well-known Australian painters. Added to that was an excellent glass collection and much more.
We went to the cellar to choose our wine from quite a good and reasonably-priced selection, then the orders were taken. The staff were somewhat older than one usually finds, and they worked efficiently and knowledgeably throughout the meal. The food was excellent. I had duck breast with mango sauce and it was tender and juicy. Steaks looked good too. We shared some yummy brandy snaps, then finished up with a complimentary port.
I would recommend this restaurant if you are ever in Horsham.

“Good old fashioned food and service”
Reviewed April 8, 2014

Its nice to go to a restaurant that serves quality food, good service without being the slightest bit pretentious. Sides are included, the wines aren't at inflated prices in a lovely dining room.

“Like an old friend...”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

Barb as hostess is a bit of a legend of the place - friendly, welcoming and knows how to look after you!
Food consistent - pretty much the same menu for 20 years. You know what you will get - always tasty and a very nice setting/ambience.

This is where my m.i.l wanted to go to celebrate her birthday. Nothing wrong with the service
They are very attentive asking for drinks and clearing plates.

We simply found the food over salty .. To the point my husband had to drown his fish in lemon. There is a good variety of selections and they will accommodate for special dietary requirements .. Dairy free etc. We simply found the food too salty. You will pay on average $25-27 for a main meal. All desserts are $9.50.
