This accommodation has me perplexed.

We paid an additional $30pm for an upstairs balcony room overlooking the Campaspse River (raging flood waters coming through), therefore paid $280 for one night. Decided to book it as it was convenient to where we needed to be early the following morning.

The room consisted of two bedrooms each with queen size beds with ceiling fans. Very comfy and decorated beautifully. Each bedroom had a television. The bathroom consisted of a spa bath (spa in the bath) and shower over it. The kitchen was modern with dishwasher, microwave, oven, fridge. Dish washer was a bit tired but otherwise this area was clean and neat. Was taken back a bit by note on fridge that suggested if dishes weren't done and rubbish removed from bins etc a $50 service fee could be added.

Lounge area consisted of coffee table and four contemporary chairs, not that comfy if you want to watch a bit of telly (which is a tv/dvd player mounted in the corner up high. The lounge is fitted with a split system a/c. There is a door from the lounge area that connects the adjoining room. Did hear a bit of noise during the afternoon but not troubled at night, having said that I'm sure our neighbours probably heard more from our side with the kids a bit excited.

The balcony overlooked the river and had an outdoor table and chairs.

To use the swimming pool and access the garden area, we needed to walk down the stairs around the back, past the front of the hotel, on main road and into a side gate. Not that great if you're shy about walking the street in your swimming attire or bedragled.

The setting for the garden and pool has great potential and I'm sure would have looked great when first installed. Garden area looking unkept, weeds, spider webs, leaves etc. Pool is lovely but again needed a vac and heaps of gum nuts and leaves.

We didn't go into the bar area so cannot comment on that area.

We were able to park downstairs below our room, only room for two cars, with six rooms.

We have children aged 10 and 8 and I was a bit concerned about the beautiful trinkets and things in the room, would have been worse with even smaller children.

Staff were lovely and helpful allowing us an additional half hour for checkout (hubby doing a triathlon - needed to get back for a shower).

I feel this is expensive accommodation for what you get. A non swimming couplewithout children may find this more to their liking.

Great location, only slightly spoilt by proximity to main road, but right on the Campaspe River. Large rooms, excellent comfortable bed, good quality furnishings, fully equipped kitchen. Spa bath was small. Reception staff very knowledgable and helpful. Will stay again.
Overall, great value booked thru wotif.com

Weekend away with friends turned into a bit of work.....
Had to clean up own rubbish ie: empty bins/take bottles out etc. HELLO
this was our holiday. No room service as in clean towels each day.
One of the bedrooms had a roof window with only a simple blind which kept NO light out. If you want to wake at the crack of dawn this is the room for you!!!!
Promises made but not delivered.
The pool was dirty on arrival and the outdoor settings not cleaned.
For the cost we paid you would expect great service.
But Echuca itself was lovely.
