After a bumpy ride on the O'Keede rail trail and a tough push up the hill out of Axedale, suddenly seeing Rivergardens in all of its floral glory was a delightful surprise and thoroughly reinvigorating. We loved strolling in amongst the roses and couldn't wait to get down to the Campaspe river...so relaxing and beautiful. Feeding time for the goats, sheep, chooks and ducks was fun to watch. Our room was spotless and homely, with fresh flowers and handmade tags attached to 'real' milk and other goodies. The hot breakfast was yummy. Most impressive were the environmental considerations, from the solar panels enabling them to be completely off the grid, the self sufficiency in terms of growing their own food, to the recycle bin in our room. What a great experience!
So pleased that we chose this B&B for our 2 night stay near Bendigo! What a great location, the accommodation is excellent, with a comfy bed, small kitchen and beautiful bathroom, just perfect for our stay. I loved all the "extras" included, help yourself to whatever is in the cupboard and fridge! Complimentary biscuits and minties too as well as a library of DVDs! Jen provided a wholesome tasty cooked breakfast in our room each morning. We enjoyed the walks, admired the very friendly goats and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.
The local tavern close by in Axedale was a great place to enjoy our Sunday evening dinner.
My mum and I enjoyed very much our stay
Jennifer is a warm, joyful and lovely host. We were "spoilt" for comfort!
