Owner description: Kryal Castle Adventure Park & Resort in Ballarat, Victoria officially reopened their doors to its NEW land of medieval adventure on March 2, 2013. Kryal Castle has been transformed for the first time since opening in the 1970s - to bring back to life this Victorian tourism icon which in November 2013 won Best New Tourism Development at the RACV Victorian Tourism Awards. An adventure park unlike any other in Australia, it brings to life a legendary and mythical land of medieval knights, battles, dragons, wizards, kings, enchanting queens, princesses and fairies. The multi-million dollar redevelopment restored all areas of the original castle including the moat, drawbridge, maze and castle towers, as well as refurbishment of seventeen four-star, luxury on-site castle suites, with hand-woven French and Belgium tapestries. Open weekends, school holidays and public holidays from 10 am - 4pm (latest entry 3pm)- prepare for excitement at the new Kryal Castle - there are plenty of wonders and medieval marvels for EVERYONE - little kids and big kids - parents and grandparents - alike!

“Need to see once..”

I was really looking forward to going to Kryal Castle but going mid week was probably the first mistake that did it a dis-service but it was the only time we could go as only in Ballarat mid week.

The weather was quite cold, go figure its Ballarat!!! and many of the attractions were closed being mid week. There was probably only about 15 people at Kryal at the time we attended.

The main show was actually quite entertaining and if there was a larger crowd there and audience participation it would be a fantastic show.

I would recommend going just before 12pm and catch the joust show then look around and then do the martial weapons show after looking around at the displays.

My husband an I were dissappointed, as most of the shops/displays were shut.. very few staff and not much going on, its a real shame, its got huge potential if run correctly...we tried to talk it up for the kids sake.

“Waste Of Time”

Don't waist your money.
Shows extremely amateurish, boring, slow doing the same thing for 1 hour going back and forth jousting at each end but waiting several minutes at each end.

We went on a cold wet day and their seating area provided no covering so got drenched. There was no coffee or food sold at the cafe by the show, so when the show finished we rushed to the only other food venue on the other side as we were freezing and desperately needed a coffee to warm up only to find out that the cafe was closed and only opens after the show. When we returned the line was so long as it was the only venue open for food. Food is fatty, full of oil. Good if you like McDonalds.

Not much going on. A lot of rooms were shut and the place is run down.
Go if you have money to waste but my advice is spend it elsewhere like Sovereign Hill.

Kryal castle truly impressed me with its 4 visitors, expensive entry fees, cheap displays, attractions where the lights have blown and you need your own torch to see, staff who stare at you and closed attractions.

Oh wait, no it didn't.

Thank you for an awesome kids birthday party Kryal Castle! It was such a hit with the kids! They loved it, lots to do – starting with the amazing Dragon’s Labyrinth on arrival. All of the kids had a turn of trying to pull out the sword in the stone, next stop the animal farm then straight to the enormous castle playground. Kids thought the jester show and knights show were funny but especially loved the knights jousting on horses – now that was a treat! Staff were really good with the kids and stayed in character. We were so happy with everything. Will definitely be back to celebrate my other sons birthday.
