What a great park, loved all the animals, free roaming wallabies, kangaroos and emus. Saw interactions with animals and keepers, amazings bond being made.
They even have tigers!!

i have been to many zoos, in each of every countries i have traveled to. i love animals and always want to have a chance to pat or even hug the animals, and not many zoos have that kind of service. when i planned this trip to australia, i looked for zoos and compared each of them, and finally i chose the ballarat wildlife park because we can have an encounter with wombat!!! wooohoooo!! turned out, that day became my best day ever (until now), from the moment i step inside the park and saw the kangaroos roaming freely everywhere (literally everywhere guys), i knew i made the right choice.
the kangaroos are very friendly, they even gonna come close to you asking for a pat on their heads, or even a hug. you might see a couple of emu having their romantic walk around the park calmly.
the park is not as big as commonly zoos, not many kinds of animal, but they have the most iconic australian's animals (kangaroos, koalas, emus, crocs, wombats, taz
devils and few more), enough for animal lover like me, so that i can learnt about all of them in one day. i jumped into most all the animal encounters, listened and learnt a lot from the park rangers.
talking about the park rangers (thats what i called them), you can feel their passionate to the animal they're taking care of, and love their jobs and love this park. i am a bit jealous, i want their jobs too.
back to the park, as i said i came for the wombat. i never saw a wombat before, didnt even had any idea what it looked like and what kind of animal wombat is. well, now wombat is my no.1 favorite animal now. Billie is sweet, calm and cute. i miss her already.
i know i tell all the goods about this park, and suggest highly to visit. at least i also want to give you some tips before you visit. kangaroos, emus roaming freely means their poops also everywhere. so, better not to wear your best shoes. they are so many and everywhere so that you cant choose the clean path. for those who have sensitive nose, you might want to prepare mask although i am not sure it will help. buuutt....it still the best zoo for me and i highly recommend it to you all.

It's great to read you enjoyed meeting Billie, she's a beautiful wombat! It sounds like you had a very special encounter with her, and hope you have some nice photos to treasure that memory.

Our park rangers / animal keepers are passionate about what they do and they care deeply for the animals, so it is great to receive your feedback that this shows.

Thanks again for the high recommendation of our park!

We had a great day here, very friendly kangaroos as soon as you enter. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s not a huge wild life park which was one of the things I liked about it, but there was enough animals to see. Having the tigers there was wonderful, kids loved it all.
