Big comfortable rooms and spacious grounds. The best place to stay for sovereign hill attractions. The hotel is in keeping with the overall theme of the area. Reasonably priced and quite close to the city centre.

Booked into Sovereign Hill Hotel with no plans to visit Sovereign Hill but upon checking in decided to attend night tour Aura, had dinner within Sovereign Hill before the show and then spent the next day in the park itself.
Had a great weekend, accommodation and breakfast included was fantastic and a great price. Room was very clean and comfortable.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be staying with them again

Room tip: We chose Governor King Room

I stayed overnight, checking in around 9pm and was pleasantly greeted and checked in quickly. I usually like to stay in the CBD, but most of the options were already booked or a lot more expensive, so I chose the Sovereign Hill Hotel. The location wasn't an issue, only a few minutes drive to the CBD and it was lovely and quiet.

The room was modern and well appointed, with some nods to history, including ceiling roses and an old world vanity. The bed was comfortable and I absolutely loved the elegant bathroom. I did notice that the drum lamp shade needed a good clean and that the skirting boards were dusty, but otherwise the room was clean. The accommodation is housed in historic looking buildings, which form a back drop to Sovereign Hill.

I didn't have breakfast, but the dining space looked great and I did make use of a complimentary tea in the lovely lounge next to reception.

I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return and do the night show at Sovereign Hill.

We stayed at this place in March. The rooms was comfy and clean, although was a bit less modern than expected (maybe due to the carpet?). Breakfast was a good buffet style, although more rustic breads (or dark whole wheat) would be appreciated.

This hotel abuts the Sovereign Hill goldfield tourist area in Ballarat - in fact, its buildings are part of the original historical area, and look out on the Sovereign Hill site. Attractive landscaped grounds in a unique setting only 5 minutes drive from the centre of Ballarat. The standard of accommodation is very good. Budget rooms are very good standard - then it works up from there with improvements in bathroom size and general fit-out, but even bottom of the range is very acceptable. Service and friendliness of staff is excellent. I had a cheeping smoke alarm one night, and it was fixed in a flash. A dining room is available for breakfast, and about the only criticism is that on-site dining is not available in the evenings. On the other hand, there is plenty available within a 5-minute drive. Highly recommend.
