Stayed at this motel for a Conference which was being held there over 2 days, Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the motel, with its lush gardens Especially liked the restaurant where I had the best Steak I have ever eaten. It was thick but so tender and tasty, you could cut it with a spoon. My friends were also amazed with the quality of their meals--Complamints were made to the Chef Breakfast was plentiful, With the usual Eggs ,sausages ,Bacon,Tomato's etc besides cereals fresh fruit , juices etc .. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We had the opportunity to stay at this property a couple of times within a few months. Whilst one earlier stay had failed to meet our expectation, this latter stay reflected the quality we had encountered over previous years. A comfortable and well presented property and room, generous buffet breakfast, beautiful grounds, and pleasant staff. An extremely convenient location to access Sovereign Hill and the Gold Museum from, and easy access to the centre of Ballarat within 5-10 minutes drive. It met all the needs we had as a family travelling with young children.

Room Tip: Travelling with the two young children we have, a two bedroom room toward the rear of the property o...

We stayed here over Easter 2014, we had a loft room, our son slept down stairs whilst we had the loft. It was a lovely room. The beds had pillow top mattresses and were very comfy. The grounds are extensive and very pretty. We loved the reception lounge area, it was so cosy with open fire places. We spent plenty of time playing snooker on the beautiful old refurbished billiard table.
The lounges has plenty of places to sit in front of the fire to enjoy a light meal or just a drink.
The restaurant food is amazing, and you won't leave hungry. The staff could not have been more helpful or attentive. It really was a great stay Ballarat has a lot to offer, so it is great to have a place like this to come back to and relax.
We will be back thank you for a great stay.

As reported to Sam on reception, there was no way the shower was cleaned in the room we were given. We also booked a room with a king and single beds, but I've just realised we were upgraded as we were given a room with a spa (and a rollaway instead of a single bed). Would have been great if we'd been told this at check in, especially as I'd rung twice to confirm the bedding as I would have again requested what I'd booked. Room was also too small for the rollaway, and no extra towels / blankets provided. Couldn't work out how to call reception from the room, so had to google phone number to be able to call to enquire how to get extra towels (which we then had to collect).

Buildings and grounds are beautiful, but too many negative things about this property for me to consider staying again.

I stayed here two nights with my mother. The room was very clean and the bathroom modern. We had dinner brought to our room the first night which was very lovely (at just $4 extra cost) We also dined in the restaurant and the food was lovely.
The buffet breakfast has a generous selection.
The kingsize bed was very comfortable, however with the venue hosting several weddings and conventions, it was sometimes a little noisy at night.
The grounds were lovely and there are several walking tracks that lead off the property.
The pool looked well maintained, but it was too cold to swim while we were there.

This motel is a bit out of the way unless you are going to Sovereign Hill.

Well set up for conferences it is only adequate as a motel. The bedroom had a very comfortable king sized bed with temperature control by a split system A/C. The bathroom had been renovated except for the bath/shower which was a pity as it really dated the motel room. The bath/shower was slippery and a big step out onto shiny tiles which could be a problem if you aren't paying attention or agile. Rooms were well sound insulated and quiet in the morning. The television was a wall mounted flat screen unit.

Our package included breakfast (a nice touch) which also could be described as adequate. I liked the selection of free newspapers to read over breakfast. Service at the Motel was also okay but nothing outstanding.

All in all this motel was adequate value for what we paid.

We stayed in a Spa Room and fortunately it was for only 1 night because there was no way I was getting into that filthy spa. The whole bathroom floor and shower needed a good scrub and around the spa to remove black mould. The tiles were filthy which was very unfortunate as the bedroom/living area was very comfortable.
