Looking for somewhere to discover craft beer which is fun, cool and not pretentious - then St John is the place to be. With a range of draught beers (that change regularly) supported by more canned and bottled beers, its hard to choose where to start. The staff are knowledgeable and willing to help you learn about what is available. A small menu is available after 5.00 pm with well prepared, delicious beer-appropriate food. During the day, you can bring your own snacks! A must visit for all craft beer lovers.

Went to Saint John on a Thursday night with friends for dinner and drinks, or should I say DRINKS and dinner!
Between four of us we tried probably eight or nine different beers/ciders from the large range of taps. Accurate descriptions on the menu gives you a good idea of what to expect, followed up by knowledgeable advice from the friendly bar staff. Every drink we had was flavourful and left us wanting more (but that's not hard....).
All the dishes we ordered were delicious and a great accompaniment to the drinks. Burgers, chips, dips and wings go perfectly with finely crafted drinks.
The atmosphere at Saint John is warm, welcoming and not pretentious. I wish my "local" was Saint John. Maybe I'll move closer!
Thanks for a great night Saint John!

We were looking for a place to have a drink and something small to eat, and came across Saint John Bar. Definitely worth a visit. They have a huge range of beers, but you can also have wines and cocktails. I love the fact that they have all these little corners to sit as you walk to the back. Definitely will be going back.

What a great bar. Would get 5 stars no matter what city it was in! Great selection of whiskey, decent beers, really open (and big) space for couches/tables/bar stools, and one of the best music play lists I have heard. Just such a good place to catch up with friends - be it 5pm or 2am!

Launceston on a Sunday night was a bit quiet, only about half of the food places we saw being open luckily I was with a local that knew they did bar food as well as good beer.

They have a small but effective bar menu with burgers, chips and fried chicken.
All were well received the chicken burger (fried chicken with chipotle mayo) was good and the chips were great, very moorish so we ordered more.

They have a great range on tap from pilsners, draught and stout that appear to constantly change and they also have a boutique bottled range. I think they do take away as well if you need some to take home.

Friendly, cosy, tasty, go on quench you thirst and your hunger.
