On a recent holiday in Launceston, we took friends' advice and booked an evening meal at Hallams. Its waterfront location was very easy to find. Our decision to book was vindicated when the couple who arrived simultaneously with us were politely turned away due to the lack of a booking.
We are fussy about which fish we will eat, how it's cooked and what comes with it. The staff were unfazed by our mix and match main courses which came quickly and perfectly done (rare). Team waiting worked very well. Deserts were great and not unduly rich. Would we go again? With alacrity!

On a recent trip to Launceston we chanced upon Hallam's and as fans of good seafood we gave it a go. What a fabulous find. Located on the river frontage, the views are beautiful. The tasting plate for 2 was excellent and excited our taste buds in preparation for the main course. Everything was cooked to perfection and the mussels were the best I have tasted anywhere. Although we had only a week to take in as much of the area as we could, we did manage another visit to Hallam's and the second experience was as good as the first - delicious seafood in every mouthful. Their mini loaves of freshy baked bread were the perfect accompaniment for soaking up the broth in the mussels and the seafood chowder. Thanks Hallam's for two perfect meals served by friendly helpful staff - the peak of our holiday enjoyment.

Went with family and in-laws for a Sunday lunch.

Staff were very accommodating. Location was wonderful.

I had the pork belly and calamari which was delicious. Never had calamari before and will definitely have it again.

A great lunch.

We went to this restaurant having heard mixed reviews. However we were very impressed with the evening. The service was lovely and quick, the atmosphere was amazing but most importantly the food was to die for, The seafood was freashest i have ever had. Maybe a little pricey but will happily go back.
