We booked this room through Qantas some several weeks before we arrived only to receive a call a couple of days beforehand advising that there was a glitch in their system and they had not received our booking and asked if they could move us to their sister hotel around the corner and split our family (consisting of 2 adults and 3 children) into 2 different rooms. When I advised that we were a family I received a phone call back advising we were getting a beautiful apartment on the 5th floor. We checked in which was friendly and quick and we went to our room. It was clean and bright with 2 rollaways supplied for us. We went out for tea to a restaurant just around the corner and before we left closed all the curtains as we knew it would be dark when we got back as the day had been very windy and wet. On arrival back to the hotel our son looked out one of the front windows only to be splashed with water. My husband and myself checked to see what he was talking about and due to the wind and rain (and no seal around the window) the water was coming in the window at a rapid speed. We got the jug from the cupboard and towels from the bathroom and called reception. A nice man, who was apologetic, came with more towels but advised there was nothing that could be done and also told us that there was another room with water leaking through the roof. We had to tie the curtains up which allowed for the continuing tolling of the clock every hour to radiate through the single pane glass window. The 2 windows next to the leaking one also had water coming through them but not as much as the first window, so 3 out of 5 windows in this apartment were leaking. We finally got to bed after 11pm and then the noise of the nightclub? nearby was easily heard in our apartment also. Between the dripping of the water coming through the window (it filled a 2 litre jug in less than 6 hours - to show you how bad the leak was), the tolling of the bells every hour and the music coming from the nightclub not much sleep was had by any of us. We checked out at 7:30am and not even an apology was given to us. I have stayed in quite a few hotels and this one was by far the worst I have ever stayed in, I won't be staying again!!
