Hotel is located very close to the city centre. Supermarket and various shops just next door, pub and restaurant attached. Didn't quite like the room though. Spacious but very dark and in bad need of renovation. Dark wood furniture and a totally unnecessary bar counter in a dark corner made the room look very uninviting. However, I guess it kind of gives you a feel of what it might have been like in actual Tudor times when electricity hadn't been invented. If you're in during the day, you can't open the curtains to let natural light in because the window faces the passage and anyone walking by can look right in. The room we were given had lots of beds - apart from the main double bed, there was a foldout couch bed that wasn't even comfortable to sit on, and 2 bunk beds. If you like the feel of living in Tudor times, this might be the room for you! Otherwise, you can probably do better - lots of other accommodation around the location.

Recently stayed here. The reception staff were very helpful. We were to stay 5 nights in a 2 br exec suite, but this was unavailable for the first night. So we had to stay in one of the older rooms for the firsat night. I am sure this old room was one of the originals from when first built in the 70's. They still need updating. The room was clean though. The room my daughter had was more like a cupboard.
We were so glad it was only for one night. The following day we moved into the 2 br exec suite. Very nice, clean and modern appliances.

The only other downfall fo this hotel is that there is no internet access at all. You would have to take your own wifi dongle with you.

Room Tip: ask for a new room

We used the tudor inn as a good base for exploring the north of Tasmania. It gave us a good access to Launceston and the tamar valley and toward the west, devonport and beyond. The rooms a good size with neat and clean finishing, the staff are friendly and quite helpful. For the rate, its a good value establishment and the meals were good after a long day off walking before going to bed.

We live 50 k's out of Launceston so often stay in town for fuctions. THIs hotel was the worst we have ever stayed in around launceston. the receptionist was cranky, the room was like a dark dungeon with all the outdated brownish black timber, there was a bar in the room with cracked and broken red vinyl seats, the shower curtan was still wet and dirty from the last tenants, the floor was filthy, and the walls were so thin we could hear the neighbours conversations all night. We had booked for breakfast as well but as soon as we got up we left in disgust and went straight home.

Planned a weekend in Launceston and was looking for a family friendly hotel with a pool so the kids could have a swim.

The reservation staff where incredibly helpful, and assisted in my booking two rooms which had a door between them so we could stretch out.

Check-in was straight forward, once again the staff were friendly and helpful. They even gave us extra towels for the pool.

The rooms were clean, smell free and one room even had a small kitchen and laundry which is great with three children.

The pool was great, although a little steamy. Could probably do with some improved ventilation.

Overall it was a great place to stay, plenty of shops nearby and only a few minutes drive to the centre of town.
