We were booked into Edenholme for 1 night only prior to connecting with a coach tour of Tasmania. Our host, Paul, was most welcoming and gracious. This is a beautiful historic building filled with antique pieces - our room was spacious and well appointed adjoining the main dining room. A delicious breakfast awaited us prior to our departure. It is within walking distance of the city centre and we would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I had a long-awaited weekend without the three kids. The Edenholme Grange (Victorian room) provided us with a great romantic atmosphere as well as location from which to enjoy Launceston in the short time we had. Look it's not a 5 star modern hotel, but no-one should expect that from a building with 100s of years history. Very interesting story about the history of the place. Paul is an interesting host with an obviously keen eye for antiques as shown by the amazing collection in the property!

Room Tip: Would probably recommend the top floor rooms (Victorian was great) as I can imagine it might be a bi...

The photos and website make this property look great and it probably was 15 yrs ago! Now it is looking tired and the old girl needs some tidying up. The beds were OK and the room clean, the grounds need cleaning up (old boxes and paint cans at back door). We stayed on the ground floor and found the noise from above floor very annoying as we could hear everystep and movement taken on the timber boards above us. Breakfast should be included in the price as it wasn't cheap.

Room Tip: Top floors only -less noise

Great old building and wonderfully appointed rooms, but somehow just falls short. Whilst beds and bathrooms were clean, the whole place needs a good spring clean - cobwebs in corners, dirty window sills etc. Car wrecks in the grounds, washing machine boxes outside back doors. A very expensive breakfast (with no forewarning that it was extra nor the cost) will be prepared while you listen to the cook coughing, nose blowing, and passing wind). Situated in a suburban street with a small garden, just doesn't feel like a historic house location.

Room Tip: get one of the rooms with a separate bathroom - would you want a bathtub in your bedroom?

We were really looking forward to staiyng at this hotel - our little splurge for the end of our trip. When we arrived however we were very disappointed. While it is a very nice heritage building, it needs some work. The verandah on the bottom floor had some planks that were rotten and wasn't really safe to walk on. There were quite a lot of cobwebs everywhere and had a bit of a neglected feel to it. If a bit of work was done this would be a fantastic place to stay but at the moment not really worth the money we paid. Also the driveway to get there is quite narrow so be careful.

Room Tip: Pick one of the rooms upstairs - much nicer or the cottages out the back. Avoid rooms on the ground...

We've been staying with quality inn group for many years, what a pleasant surprise to find this jem, an1880's restored home. A beatiful and educational glimpse into early Tasmania victorian living. We stayed in the bankers room with stunning antique furniture and authentic bank ledgers. Breath taking views from verandah of Launceston. Spotless rooms. Breakfast in the formal dinning room was cooked and served by Paul on beautiful antique cutlery and crookery. The teapot collection is awsome. The rose garden was among the best we've seen. Recommend tthis motel to anyone.

Room Tip: Bankers room at the back of house, very quiet. Bathroom, good shower and spa, nice heater.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a wonderful window into Victorian living in a beautifully restored home. We stayed in the Settler Cottage. Great service, beautiful old historic home and close to all amenities. I have no hesitation in recommending this B & B to anyone & will be staying there again.
