This is definitely café -great coffee and a limited selection of snack food. It opens early - 7AM - and at that time has a steady stream of regular local customers.

The coffee is VERY good and the staff very friendly - they seem to know the regular well.

Seating is limited to a bar at the window and large communal table.

Daily papers (there at 7 AM) and an eclectic mix of magazines add to the vibe.

This is a great place and if you appreciate great coffee and very unpretentious staff - then COME HERE!

The place has a commitment to local suppliers - from coffee to milk and food.

Located in central Launceston - a good spot to refuel during the day, But it does close at 5 PM and not open on weekends.

Unfortunately, this is where the Tripadvisor website is inadequate. Yes, this is not a restaurant. However, good Espresso bars are there for one purpose - to make great coffee. And Amelia does that beautifully. They also make wonderful muffins if you get in early enough. Friendly service. If you love coffee, you should visit here as often as you can while in Launceston

I've been travelling for work for the last four months around Australia and you'd be surprised what passes as 'good coffee'. More often than not there is not enough care taken by establishments in the way they make this life sustaining beverage.

Burnt milk, overdrawn pours, dirty coffee heads, poor quality beans - these are all too common.

It's heartening then to discover that there are establishments that take their coffee making seriously - hats off to Amelia's; they do what they do really well. With passion and with quality materials.

The service was warm and genuine. If you buy a coffee you get free wifi for 30 minutes. You get a discount for a BYO coffee container. There is a BYO lunch policy, plenty of space around a shared table and newspapers to read. Nice vibe and great coffee. Lovely.

Travel safe :)

Have you ever been somewhere just the once yet you miss it like you went there all the time? This is that place for me. The staff are awesome, the locals are up for a chat and a bit of advice on what to see and do and the place has a great vibe. The coffee is buttery smooth, not too acidic and not too fruity. We live in Melbourne and this place would easily fit right in with the very best. Keep it up!

Great new cafe with the owner offering up her own distinct blend of coffee. Seems to be already building a strong following. With great coffee and a chilled atmosphere, it's no surprise! (Lower rating for food is simply due to the lack of items on offer. But hey, it's a coffee bar, not a restaurant so that's ok!!)
