“Excellent hotel- would recommend”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

We stayed here for one night in March; booked two adjoining rooms for family trip. Despite the poor trip advisor reviews we found this to be an excellent hotel. Great location, large rooms, all facilities you would expect, crisp clean linen and towels etc. Compared to similar priced hotels in the city this appeared by far superior.

An excellent locality with amazing views. The rooms were well appointed with helpful, friendly staff.
The food in the dinning room was tasting and affordable.
The desk staff helped us prepare our travel plans. there was plenty of information booklets with contact details.
The staff were able to organize transport. Maps and even called places for us. We loved being there.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the east are good in the summer

Stayed here for a night whilst attending an event in Launceston. We have stayed before a couple of times and generally the only problem is the dirty cups, sauces and teaspoons. Tried to check in just after one as we had already had lunch and were just sitting around. We were told we couldn't get in until two, so away we went and came back at twenty past two, we then waited until three to eventually get into our room, watching others turned up the desk and proceeded to collect keys and go to their rooms. Once we were in the room we needed to clean the cups as usual before we had a tea. I can understand if they were busy and they seemed to be, but they knew we were trying to check in a bit after one. There are many good hotels in Launceston as we stay regularly so in future i think we will give them our business.

Stayed here for 2 days 2 weeks ago and they could not get the gluten free delivery right. Just checked out today after 2 more days there and what an embarrassment to the Chancellor group. The head chief is an arrogant person who does not care and obviously is unable to even make a jus gluten free.
One pays the same as everyone else and gets to eat 50% of the meals served.
APT please take notice, it is not good for business. Your tour director can walk on water, BUT only if the internal management get it right first

Too many occasions in Tasmania where gluten free is a pain in the neck and all too hard. Outback SA and Victoria, NSW leaver Tasmania for dead.

We stayed two nights at the hotel and were made very welcome on arrival. Bed and room was very clean and excellent layout. We loved the entry and was so close to everything in the city. The breakfast was absolutely great. There was nothing we could fault it was great.

Room Tip: Our rooms were great and did not hear any complaints from other guests

Behind the grand facade lies a comfort inn / best western quality hotel.
Room are old and dirty, with stains on the carpets.
I had hairs on my 'new' pillows, water pressure low.
Walls are wafer thin and the corridor feels like a hospital ward.
Location is good though.
