On Saturday December 21st as I was attending a wedding luncheon at this hotel I organised to have flowers delivered to the bride and groom in the restaurant at that time there were no other tables occupied in his wisdom the front desk receptionist decided there was no wedding there and had them returned to the florist ,how difficult would it have been to check an almost empty restaurant to inquire if anyone was expecting flowers guest service on his behalf non existent myself bride and groom were all very disappointed in this lack of service and when I went to the desk to check I was treated in a very off handed manner because the shop was then closed the bride did not get her flowers until Monday :(
I would not think it unusual for flowers to be delivered to guests in the hotel !

Room Tip: Did not stay at the hotel

We stayed for 1 night in October. We had booked a refurbished king room (thinking that for a hotel as old as this one, this would be one of the better rooms) and were looking forward to "living it up". The room was very average - yes it had a king size bed (with no cover on the doona). the air conditioner was an evaporative cooler bolted to the floor in the corner. The bins looked like they had been purchased at a thrift shop. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was half blocked with a build up of dust. To top it off, the $100 security deposit that was put on our credit card took 9 days to be released (only after I rang to complain) - despite there being no charges added to the booking.
I would say very average at best. Friends and family stayed at The Olde Tudor Hotel and from what I could see they got a much better deal and better standard of accommodation than the so called 4-5 star rating that is advertised.

We stay 3 nights within X'mas. Location is very good and close to Town Hall, Post Office and City Park. Staffs are very nice. We received a hand written X'mas greeting from housekeeping team. Room is large but facilities were quite old. Especially the air conditioner, very noisy running. Tea pot can be used at breakfast buffet. The selection of tea is good.

Top location yithin easy walking distance of town. Staff were friendly and helpful, and accomodated our late request for an additional night at short notice. The beds were really comfy. and shower/bathroom was great. Will definitely stay again next time I return to Launceston for the wine and gourmet trail.

Room Tip: If suffering jet lag or needing to catch up on sleep, request a room facing the square at the rear o...

If you're in Launceston, you cannot pass this hotel. It's central, quiet and immaculate. Service was second to none. Breakfast was fantastic. I would recommend this hotel highly to anyone. I will book into another Grand Chancellor without hesitation.

Room Tip: Every room is perfect.

The location is very convenient for getting in and around Launceston and the surrounding area and the staff were very friendly. Check in and check out were very quick and efficient which was great. I have to say I'm glad they are starting to rennovae as my room on the 1st floor was straight out of the 80's complete with plated tap fittings and salmon pink marble in the bathroom. Overall the room was cleean and the bed comfortable so once the renovations are done this hotel should be back up to a great standard.
