Beautiful old house and lovely decor. Service was excellent and very warm and helpful as well as being very knowledgable of the menu. Small but excellent menu as well as a concise and excellent wine menu. Food was absolutely stunning, best food I have ever had in Tasmania and top 3 of anything I have had in the world to date. Bravo! Not to be missed!

This is a fabulous restaurant! we just happened upon it in the street and what luck that was. The food was amazing, i had a tomato tart which was to die for. Our waiter was very good he had such personality. He made a few jokes which were quite witty and i could tell he was very comfortable in his job which made us very relaxed. Its not a cheap night out but it turned into a real dining experience for us when we werent seeking something fancy and that was just such a lovely surprise. Go here!

We enjoyed the degustastion twice now and also visited another time and had meals from the menu over a period of 4 years. We love to eat out and try new places and would eat here more often but the menu for degustation doesnt change much and we got bored with it. We would like to see the chef change it up more. Over the tarts, over the pork belly pancakes. You guys are in the top 5 restuarant must eats but the menu is getting a bit staid now.

Evan and I went to Brisbane Street Bistro on a Tuesday evening. We had dinner at 6:30, and only 2 other groups of people arrived while we were there. It's built into an old home, and the dining area is stuffed with tables. I wouldn't like to be there if it was a busy evening, as navigating around the restaurant with empty tables was difficult enough. It's very comfortable with a lovely atmosphere. The music was also decent.... read more at http://launcestonfood.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/brisbane-street-bistro.html

Wine list was great, I had a beautiful glass of pinot noir. Food was very good, though was a bit disappointed in the lamb as it was not as tender as you'd expect from a restaurant of this calibre, and served with what looked like frozen peas. Everything else was excellent though and I wasn't 'disappointed' with the meal, it was still lovely. Gorgeous room and the creme brulee and amuse bouche were delicious!
