What a great hotel and very different from the usual hotels in Launceston. The staff were great - we wanted a late check out and it was no problem. We only had one problem in that the room was next to some construction work on the nearby hospital which started very early. It's a bit of a walk into town but only 15 minutes or so. There is a Coles just down the road so you can buy your breakfast provisions and keep them in the fridge in your room.

Stayed here just for one night with partner at the beginning of the month. Wish it had been for longer! The service was excellent. Dined from room service which was due to us arriving quite late in the evening and the food arrived quickly and was really well presented and good value, and most of all really tasty! The rooms were very modern, and the bathroom was straight out of a magazine! The big orange chair in the bedroom did get in the way a bit as we had a lot of luggage with us, but it was very comfy! All in all a really first class hotel close to the airport, I would definintely recommend and use it again if I am ever in the area. Thanks!

It is always nice staying in a new hotel, however, the rooms are quite small. We booked our hotel online and paid $139 but did not have a view from the room.

Stayed 1 night with business colleagues. I’ve stayed in 3 other hotels in Launceston and although the Hotel Charles is a bit further out of town and we needed to jump in a cab to get dinner in the city centre, I still think it’s the best place to stay. I believe it will now rival the Grand Chancellor which has traditionally been the business hotel in Launceston – and I have to say it ‘s much nicer than the Grand Chancellor.

Newly refurbished its sleek and stylish and rooms are on 3 levels. Rooms were a good size, bathroom didn’t have a bath and water pressure wasn’t the greatest, but it was perfectly adequate. Very quiet at night - I didn't hear a thing, but could be a bit noisy during the day as there is construction going on at the new hospital over the road during business hours.

Easy parking right out the front which is free and although I didn’t eat in the restaurant the menu looked good and the decor was very modern. Room service menu was from the restaurant and on the larger side.

Bed was comfortable, but it was one of those zip together beds which may bother some people – I found it fine.

My first choice when staying in Launceston from now on.

Stayed for 1 night 21/2 for business. Check in was quick and easy and we stayed in a King Studio which we found to be really comfortable. It has a small kicthenette which would be useful if you wished to save some $$ by eating in. We didnt utilise it as it was an overnight stay. Large bathroom ( we were given a room suitable for a wheelchair) which had a massive enclosed shower and loads of space. The blinds are something else :) they are ok for privacy but do let a lot of light in early..didnt matter as we were up and out early anyway.. could be an issue if you are light sensitive and want to sleep in. All in all a great stay and would stay here again.

Obviously somebody has put a lot of work into developing this building into a hotel. Sure it is clean and quiet with comfortable beds, but why did I need to move that BIG orange chair everytime I wanted to open the wardrobe? Seems there maybe some city views from the front of the building so why is the "bar" (which is actually the lobby) situated overlooking the driveway entry and the carpark? Sitting in the lobby, at a table scattered with open newpapers, empty coffee cups and used plates is not my idea of a pleasent enviornment to enjoy a drink, especially when another patron had their shoes off and their feet up on one of the couches that make up the "bar" area. Other than this gripe and the attempt to overcharge me from my quoted rates (through an independant booking site) upon checkout the hotel seems acceptable, albeit a bit boring.
