Lovely B&B very well placed in the centre of Launceston (though this does lead to a bit of traffic noise at night as one would expect for such a convenient location). Beautiful house, nicely decorated comfortable spacious room. Friendly owners, really enjoyed the communal breakfast - bacon and eggs served at a big round table where one can swap stories with other travellers. We would stay here again if ever back in Launceston.

Thank you Fiona and David for a lovely stay. Large comfortable room, great location and lovely hosts. Being in the B&B business ourselves we know when things are just right and this is one of those places. Great cooked breakfast in the price, lots of useful info and most important for us, a free fast wifi service. Keep up the good work guys!

We spent two nights at Hi George in mid-January and would recommend the guest house. It was much more spacious than it looks from the outside. Our bedroom was extremely clean with comfortable bed and good bed linen. The shower room was immaculate and spacious. As others have mentioned breakfast is served round a communal table which we found to be an enjoyable and friendly experience. George was helpful with suggestions for restaurants and we enjoyed eating at Mud on the second evening. We also had a delicious light lunch at Stillwater before a walk to Cataract Gorge. If we re-visited Launceston we would stay at Hi George again.

Room Tip: If we were staying again I would ask for a room at the back. I was somewhat conscious of intermittent traffic noise in our room at the front

We caught the day ferry from Melbourne then drove to Launceston. After doing a few laps (Lonny has an interesting arrangements of one way streets in the city centre) we found Hi George in York st. George was waiting with our keys and a warm welcome. The room was lovely: crisp and fresh and immaculately clean. We strolled a few blocks looking for dinner but all the kitchens seemed to close at 9pm. Star of Siam in Charles street was an excellent find, with a straightforward Thai menu. After a good sleep we were treated to a cooked breakfast, courtesy of George, and the company of a couple from Virginia. George seems to have a broad understanding of Tasmanian history and politics, and we really enjoyed his conversation.

We had the best B&B with Hi George in Launceston Tasmania. They are very happy with Flight Centre's service. Thankyou Fiona and David for going beyond the call of duty when my husband was sick and they picked up dinner for us. We had two stays with them because it felt like home
