Had a table by the window and enjoyed the sunset. Food itself was pretty standard, no wow effects. Service was good and very attentive!

This was our first time at Esca and we were very pleased. Wait staff were very attentive. The food was sensational (best steak we have had in a long time, and loved the mushroom bruschetta). The view would have been great if the weather had behaved. If you have an entertainment card don't forget to bring this along, nice to get a discount. We will be back.

This was the worst restaurant meal i have paid for in Adelaide.

Food: A disgrace. we ordered a starter, 2 mains and a $10 sidorder of salad.

Starter: bread with oil and olives - passable
Main1: pork cutlet with lentils: pork flavourless and i was face with restaurant situation we all dread...getting food out of your mouth and back onto the plate. A 1inch piece of inedible gristle returned to the plate but more worryingly was followed by a 2cm shard of bone that was incompletely cut off my cutlet. lentils UNCOOKED, sauce flavourless. $30

main 2: duck legf with stuffed zuchinni flower. this was scarily bad. the duck leg was tough like a bbq chicken leg after a day at coles. the zuchini flower filled with fetta - soething went wrong here. it was chalky and tasteless and very unpleasant. the sauce again lacked flavour

side salad; pear, gorgonzola and lettuce. hard to go wrong but massive chunks of chees with mandolined pear does not create balance.

Winelist: plentiful by bottle, limited by glass

Value: very poor. if you pay $30 you expect to be able to at least eat the food

X-factor: crowded i think our table was in the hallyway bc waiters carried food over my shoulders multiple times

Service: fine

Summary: A terrible meal. i hope for the sake of the restaurant that the chef was sick and someone else was trying to cook. we shall never return and feel upset to have wasted moeny

This was our 4th visit to Esca and this time we went with visitors from interstate. Its a bit on the pricey side but that can be overlooked given all the other things that are on offer. Tonight we had a table on the side of the restaurant overlooking the ocean and the sunset was magnificent. On the other side, tables have a view of the marina.

The service was prompt, the staff knowlegable about both the specials and the standard menu items, and were happy to recommend wines that matched our food. There was a good selection of wine by the glass so that made it easy to please everyone with our differing range of meals.

The food was sensational. Produce was fresh and cooked perfectly. All our meals, (we all had an entree and main but shared 2 deserts - we were pretty full by now) were great!

W all had a brilliant night. Thanks Esca!

Was part of a large group (16) which had pre-booked a set menu (of two choices per course). Both my entree and main were very good to excellent. However, the prawn entrees at my table all had the bean salad not well prepared. The asparagus vegetables with the main were ever so slightly overcooked. The waitress had little idea how some of the dishes were prepared, and hurried of to ask the chef. Late patrons upset the chef who was finishing service, and at that point a few choice words were angrily ejected from the kitchen into the dining area. all that aside this is a classy restaurant, with stunning sunsets overlooking the gulf from sea front windows.
