ive actually stayed at this hostel in january of 2009 and found it a great place but stayed there again in april 2010 and found the place is getting run down and getting a bit more unhygenic as in bathrooms and cleanliness of rooms. There is a bar open down stair which is open to the public and can get extremely noisy at night and with the passing by traffic of the two roads (as on the corner of main part of glenelg) so id suggest requesting a centre room and not one at back or front or dont expect much sleep.
The best bit bout this place is that there are no bunk beds and proffesionally cleaned linen however the duvets never seem to be cleaned.
people are genuinly nice but u really need to look for ur new friends as is a large place. nice lounge area with heaps of seating and tv and lots of computers for internet but needs to be payed.
They dont hold any activities such as pub rounds or night outs or activities so only social partying is in there own pub and that can get expensive. very close to beach and shops great location. Would not recomend for family holidays or for sport etc clubs to stay at and best to stay in summer
