There’s nothing modern about this hotel, this accommodation is a fine example of a hotel trading on its location, rather than its facilities.
The first thing that hit me when entering my room was the heat. It wasn’t that hot outside, but my room was stifling. Then soon after, I smelt sewage. I reported this smell to reception and they told me it was from a blockage from a room close to mine.
Entering my room was like a step back in time to era of Valiant’s and Sigma’s, both fine South Australian cars, however neither had air-conditioning. My room did have a/c, but it struggled to keep my room cool on a 32C day. My old Sigma and this room would both struggle with 40C Adelaide day.
I had to run the a/c overnight on my last night and it was very noisy. So this, coupled with the road noise and the outside corridor noise kept me up for most of night. Ironically, this wasn’t a bad thing, because I was up early to catch my flight in the morning.
I found the housekeeping odd? They would make the bed and do some stuff, but leave used glassware and cups?
At least the hot water was very hot, but even that fluctuated!More
